This page allows you to create assets in bulk. You can create bulk assets for a newly created asset. You can specify the number of assets and number of tags to be created in bulk for an asset. The system generates the asset number in the multiline from last generated asset number. This page also allows you to specify your own asset number. This page allows you to specify the asset location in which the assets are physically present, the code identifying the cost center, the in-service date and the cost of the asset tag. Bulk asset can be created for assets with single proposal number and single document number.
The system creates the asset-tag combination in bulk based on the number of asset specified. The system updates the status of the asset and the asset tag to “Fresh”. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the bulk assets details.
Select the “Create Bulk Asset” link at the bottom of the “Create Complex Asset” page.
The “Create Bulk Asset” page appears.
Enter the following field in the “Asset Information” group box:
Note: If this page is launched after creating an asset, the system displays the asset details from the “Create complex Asset” page.

Asset No. |
The number identifying the asset, which has to be split into many assets (Alphanumeric, 18). Mandatory. |

Example: An asset “Computer” may consist of 2 equipments “CPU” and the “Monitor”. These 2 equipments are the tags of the asset. |

The system retrieves the description, cost and the asset class code. |

Enter the following fields:

No. of Assets |
The total number of assets to be created in bulk out of one asset (Integer). If you enter 20, then the system creates 20 assets out of one asset. |

No. of Tags |
The total number of tags to be appended to the asset (Integer). Example, 2, 6, 7 so on. The number of tags must be greater than or equal to 1. |

Press the <Enter> key. |

The system evenly distributes the asset cost to all the tags in the multiline. |
Enter the following fields in the “Asset/Tag Information” multiline:

Asset No. |
The unique number identifying the asset (Alphanumeric, 18). Mandatory. |
Asset number generation
The system generates the asset number based on the parameters set in the “Company Parameter” business component. If the parameter value “Automatic Creation of Asset ID (Part A)” has been set to “Yes”, then the Asset No is created as asset class specified followed by a running serial number separated with ‘-‘. If the parameter value has been set to “No”, then the asset number entered by the user is taken as it is.
Example:
The Asset No. L&B 001 costs Rs 100000. If the number of assets specified is 10, then Asset No. L&B 002 to L&B 010 will be created.

The number of the asset tag. |
Note: If the tag number specified in this field is 3, then the system displays 1, 2, and 3 in each row of the multiline for each asset.

Asset Location Code |
The code identifying the asset location in which the assets are physically located (Alphanumeric, 20). The asset location must have been defined in the “Create Asset Location” activity of the “Asset Location” business component. |

Cost Center |
The code identifying the cost center under which the asset are physically or logically grouped (Alphanumeric, 5). The cost center must have been defined in the “Create Cost Center/Unit” activity of “Cost Setup” business component. |

In Service Date |
The date on which the assets are put to effective use (Date Format). The system defaults the capitalization date of the asset if the in-service date is not entered. |

Tag Cost |
The cost of the asset tag (Decimal). Mandatory. The total cost of all the asset tags in the multiline must be equal to the asset cost of the particular asset number and greater than zero. |
Click the “Create Bulk Asset” pushbutton to create the bulk asset.
Mode of entry in this page
For the asset number Comp 100, the number of asset specified is 2 and the number of tags specified is 2. The cost of the computer is $ 10000. The following must be taken care while entering the multiline.

The system updates the status of the asset and the asset tag to “Fresh”.
The system stores the login ID of the user to the created by and the system date to the created date.
