Specifying the criteria based on which you will filter records. For example, the criteria you specify could be Date Range, Range of employee numbers, Work order number etc.

Viewing the list of records that the system displays, which satisfy the criteria you specified. After viewing the list, you are to select one or more records.

Executing the activity on the selected record.

Before using a Ramco iEnterprise Series Web page

Before you get started on the Ramco iEnterprise Series Web page, you need to know a few concepts based on which Ramco iEnterprise Series works. These can be summed up in the few key words that follow.

Business Component

Activity

Web Page

The Business Component refers to a set of logical transactions grouped under a name. For example, "Equipment Induction" could be a business component.

An Activity refers to any transaction under a Business Component. Eg: "Create Equipment", "Move Equipment", "Modify Asset Structure" etc.

A transaction often involves one or more steps. For instance, the activity "Create Equipment" may involve:

Entering Equipment Information

Entering Additional Details for the Equipment

Defining Equipment Placeholder details

Attaching Parameters to the Equipment

Attaching Spare Parts to the Equipment and so on.

In effect, these are the Web Pages on which you work. When you are working on a Web page, you are often carrying out a step in an Activity. Because there can be multiple steps in an Activity, you may use multiple Web Pages to carry out the Activity.

Note that there are several instances when a single Web page is used to carry out the activity directly.
