Attach / Detach Posting Account to Reporting Chart of Accounts – A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to attach a reporting account code to an operative account code. Based on the reporting chart of accounts selected you can specify a range of reporting account codes that you want to retrieve. You can also retrieve the operative account codes based on the on the selected operative chart of accounts ID. You can also carry out a search by specifying whether you want to retrieve the operative account codes that have been already attached or are yet to be attached.

You can attach an operative account to a reporting account code that is in the lowest level of the corresponding chart of accounts structure. The group and the category to which the selected reporting account code and the operative account code belongs must be the same.

This page also allows you to detach the reporting account code from the operative account code to which it has been attached.

What you can do in this activity

Attach account codes

Reporting account codes are created for the purpose of grouping the various transactions logically under various account codes. To view these transactions the operative account codes must be attached to the reporting account codes.

Detach account codes

 Operating account codes that have been already attached to the reporting account codes can be detached. These detached account codes can be attached to other reporting account codes.
