Attach / Detach Reporting Chart of Accounts – A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to assign the reporting chart of accounts to companies. Reporting chart of accounts is usually defined at the company level. You can select the company to which you want to assign the reporting chart of accounts.  

While attaching the selected reporting chart of accounts, the system retains the original chart of accounts ID. If the selected reporting chart of accounts has been mapped to an operative chart of accounts, it must be ensured that the operative chart of accounts must also be attached to the selected child company.

While copying the selected reporting chart of account, you can enter a unique chart of accounts ID along with the description. The reporting chart of accounts will be copied to the “Main” finance book of the selected company. If the selected reporting chart of accounts has been mapped to an operative chart of accounts, it must be ensured that the operative chart of accounts is available in the selected company.

This activity also allows you to detach a reporting chart of account from a company to which it has been attached earlier.

What you can do in this activity

Attach reporting chart of accounts to a company

Reporting chart of accounts is defined and then assigned to a company. This reporting chart of account is then attached to other companies. The companies to which the chart of account has been attached cannot modify the details of this chart of account.

4Attach the reporting chart of account to the selected company.

Copy reporting chart of accounts to a company

The reporting chart of account that has been created can also be copied to the companies. The companies to which the chart of account has been attached can modify the details of this chart of account by modifying the chart of account code or description or by adding a new reporting account to it.

4Go to “Attach / Detach Reporting Chart of Accounts” page.

4Copy the reporting chart of account to the selected company.

Detach reporting chart of accounts from a company

Reporting chart of accounts that have been attached to a company can be detached if required.
