Maintain Posting Rule – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to set the combination of account properties for which journal vouchers can be passed in the “Posting” finance book, “Main” finance book, “Tax” book or the “Consolidation” finance book. The system by default does not allow posting of journal vouchers for any of the predefined account property combination. The system provides you with 46 standard account property combinations. This activity allows you to select any or all of the predefined account property combination for posting journal vouchers.

You can post journal vouchers for the selected account property combination for an effective date range. The status of the account property combination with respect to the posting of journal vouchers is updated as “Included”.
This activity also allows you to disallow the posting of journal vouchers for any included account property combination. The exclusion is again for an effective date range. The status of the account property combination with respect to the posting of journal vouchers is updated as “Excluded”.
This activity also allows you to search and select account codes for valid account property combinations to allow or disallow the posting of journal vouchers. The inclusion and the exclusion are once again valid for an effective date range. The status of the account code with respect to the posting of journal vouchers is updated as “Included” or “Excluded” respectively.
This activity also allows you to modify the posting rule based on the business requirements. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the newly defined posting rule and the modified posting rule.
