Defining permit types

This page allows you to define the various types of classification of the clearance permit. Tell me more.

Select the “Define Permit Types” link under the “EAM Clearance Permit System” business component.

The “Define Permit Types” page appears.

Enter the following fields in the “Permit Types” multiline:

Seq. No.	The sequence in which the type should be listed in other activities where hazard type is used (Integer). Ensure that the sequence number is a positive integer and is unique to the multiline.
	If you have left the sequence number blank for all the multiline rows, the system rearranges the multiline rows in the alphabetical order of type and automatically assigns a sequence number to each of them, in multiples of five, when you click the "Define” pushbutton.

Note: If you have left the sequence number blank for some of the multiline rows, the system arranges those rows in the alphabetical order of type, and considers these rows to be the last in the sequence. The system then rearranges the rows in the ascending order of the sequence number and renumbers the rows with multiples of five.

Permit Type	The unique identifier for the permit type (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. This field can be a combination of characters and digits and cannot be left blank. Once created, this field cannot be modified.
Desc.	The textual description of the permit type (Alphanumeric, 150).
Status	Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the type. The system provides the options: “Active” and “Inactive”. Set the status as “Inactive” to disable the type from future reference in other activities. The system sets the status as “Active”, if you leave the field blank.
Remarks	Any additional information about the permit type (Alphanumeric, 255).

The system displays the following fields in the multiline:

Created By	The login ID of the user who created the type.
Created Date	The date on which the type was created.
Created Time	The time at which type was created.
Last Mod. By	The login ID of the user who last modified the permit type.
Last Mod. Date	The date and time at which the type was last modified.
Last Mod. Time	The time at which the type was last modified.

Click the “Define” pushbutton to create or update the modified details of the permit types.

Note: The system creates the permit types and generates the sequence numbers for those rows for which the sequence number has not been specified. In the multiline, the system displays the created and modified date and time, and the name of the user who created or modified the permit type.
