Select the “Return Clearance Permit” link under the “EAM Clearance Permit System” business component.
The “Return Clearance Permit” page appears.
Enter the following field in the “Permit Returned By” to retrieve clearance permits that must be returned based on the permit holder:

Employee |
Click this radio button and enter in the edit box alongside, the ID of the employee who holds the clearance permit (Alphanumeric, 30). Ensure that the employee is already defined in the “Define Employee” activity of the “Resources” business component and is in the “Current” status. |

The system retrieves the name of the employee alongside.

Click this radio button and enter in the edit box alongside the contractor who holds the clearance permit (Alphanumeric, 30). |
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for clearance permits that must be returned:

Clearance Permit |
The clearance permit that must be returned (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the clearance permit number in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves similar clearance permits. |

Permit Type |
Use the drop-down list box to retrieve clearance permits based on the permit type. The system fills in all the permit types that have been defined in the “Define Permit” types activity and that are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank to retrieve clearance permits irrespective of the permit type. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |

Ref. Doc. Type |
Use the drop-down list box to retrieve clearance permits based on the document for which the clearance permit is created. The system provides the options: “”Work Order”, “Insp. Order”, “Calib Order” and “Clearance Request”. Leave the field blank, if you wish to retrieve clearance permits irrespective of the document type. The system leaves the field blank, by default |

The system retrieves all clearance permits that are approved by users whose employee IDs are similar to the employee ID entered here. Help facility available. |

The employee ID of the user who requested for the clearance permit (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the employee ID in full or specify it partially. Enter the following fields in the “Permit Validity Date” field to retrieve clearance permits based on the dates for which the clearance permit is valid:

Click the “Search” pushbutton to search for the clearance permit.
Based on the filter criteria entered, the system retrieves in the "Search Results" multiline, the clearance permits for returning:

Work Completed? |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the maintenance work on the equipment or location for which clearance permit is issued is completed or not. The system fills in this field with all the user-defined values that have been defined in the “Maintain User Defined Fields” activity” for “Work Complete” option and that are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank, if you do not wish to specify the level of completion of the work. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the clearance permits that must be returned.
Click the “Return Permit” pushbutton to return the clearance permit.
Note: The system returns the clearance permit and sets the status of the clearance permit as “Returned”. It also stores the login ID of the user who returned the clearance permit along with the date and time of returning the clearance permit.
