Creating calibration order – An overview
This page allows you to create a calibration order. The following details must be specified in the calibration order:
The equipment that is to be calibrated
The master equipment whose readings are to be compared for the purpose of calibration. The master equipment can be either internal or external equipment. Internal equipment refers to equipment belonging to the plant whereas external equipment refers to equipment that does not belong to the plant.
The task or the standard procedure that is to be performed while calibrating the equipment.
The date on which the calibration is scheduled to be performed on the equipment as well as the date on which the calibration is actually performed on the equipment.
The various parameters for which the calibration must be done on the equipment. You must also specify the exact parameter value, called as the “Set Point”, where the equipment must be calibrated.
The acceptable range of tolerance while calibrating the equipment.
The “Pre-Calibration Value”, which indicates the measurement taken on the equipment before calibrating, and the “Post-Calibration Value”, which indicates the measurement taken after the calibration was done.
The system then ascertains the result of the calibration that is performed on the equipment for the specific parameter. If the post calibration value falls beyond the range of tolerance that is specified, the system sets calibration result as “Fail”. If the post calibration value falls between the range of tolerance, the system sets the calibration result as “Pass”.
You are also provided with the option of setting the result of the calibration as “Pass” or “Fail”, for the calibration order.
You can specify the period for which the calibration done on the equipment is valid, to determine the date on which the next calibration is due on the equipment.
You can also use this activity to close a calibration order. The system changes the status of the calibration order to “Closed” and records the date on which the next calibration is due on the equipment.
