Select the “Edit Formula” link in the “Select Formula” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked formula in the multiline of the same page.
The “Edit Formula” page appears.
Enter the following field, if you wish to modify a formula other than the formula selected in the previous page:
|
Formula |
The formula to be edited (Alphanumeric, 30). |
|
Press <Enter>. The system retrieves the details of the formula. The description of the formula is retrieved alongside. You can modify the description, if required (Alphanumeric, 150).
|
Zoom facility available.
|
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the formula. The system provides the options “Active” and “Inactive”. Set the field to “Inactive”, if you wish to disable the formula from any further reference in other activities. The system displays “Active”, by default. |
|
Formula Content |
The content of the formula (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory. You can modify the formula content directly or re-build the formula by transferring the parameters along with the inspection points from the multiline. |
To search for a parameter
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the parameter to be included in the formula:
|
Parameter |
The parameter that must be included in the formula (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the parameter in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all parameters similar to the parameter entered here. |
|
Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the parameter to be retrieved. The system provides the options “Range” and “Consumption”. Leave the field blank to retrieve all parameters, which belong to both “Range” and “Consumption”. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
|
Desc. |
The description of the parameter to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all parameters with description similar to the description entered here. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to search for the parameter.
The system retrieves the following fields in the “Search Results Parameter” multiline:
|
Parameter |
The parameter retrieved by the system. |
|
Type |
The type of the parameter, which can be “Range” or “Consumption”. |
|
Desc. |
The description of the parameter. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to select the parameter to be included in the formula.
Click the “Transfer Parameter” pushbutton, to transfer the selected parameter to the “Formula Content” field.
Provide a valid mathematical operator in the “Formula Content” field.
To search for an inspection point
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for an inspection point:
|
Inspection Point |
The inspection point that must be included in the formula (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the inspection point in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all inspection points similar to the inspection point entered here. |
|
Desc. |
The description of the inspection point (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all inspection points with similar description. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton.
The system retrieves the following fields in the “Search Results Inspection Points” multiline:
|
Inspection Point |
The inspection point retrieved by the system. |
|
Desc. |
The description of the inspection point. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to select the inspection point to be included in the formula.
The following must be borne in mind before transferring an inspection point:
An inspection point can be used only along with a parameter in a formula.
An inspection point cannot be referred independently in the formula.
An inspection point can be transferred only for a range parameter.
Click the “Transfer Inspection Point” pushbutton, to transfer the selected inspection point to the “Formula Content” field.
Note: The system transfers the inspection point and appends it to the preceding parameter with “@” symbol. This indicates that the parameter value at the specific inspection point must be used in the formula for calculation purposes.
Click the “Edit” pushbutton to edit the formula.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:
|
Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the formula. |

Editing a formula – An overview

This page allows you to edit a formula. You can edit the formula selected in the previous page. You can also enter a formula directly in this page and edit its details. You can modify the description, status and the content of the formula. You can modify the formula content directly or re-build the formula with the parameters and the inspection points that are transferred from the multiline.
The system modifies the formula and stores the login ID of the user who has modified the formula along with the date and time of modification.
Create Parameter activity of the “Equipment Induction” business component. Parameters of type “Range” or “Consumption” must have been defined.
