Select Location

This page allows you to select the location to be modified and view its details before modification. Tell me more

Select the “Edit Location” link under the “EAM Maintenance Organization” business component.

The “Select Location” page appears.

Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the exact location to be modified:

Location Code

The location to be modified (Alphanumeric, 30).

Select the “Edit Location” link provided alongside, to modify the details of the location.

To search for a location

Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a location:

Location Code	The location to be modified (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the location in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all locations with codes similar to the code entered in this field.
Desc.	The description of the location (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all locations with description similar to the description entered here.
Parent Loc.	The location that is the parent of the location in the Primary System(Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the location in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all locations, which belong to similar parent locations.
Planning Group	The planning group of the location (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the planning group in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all locations, which belong to similar planning groups.
Landmark	The description of any physical landmark in the plant that helps in identifying the location (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the landmark in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all locations, which can be identified by similar landmarks.
Status	Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the location. The system provides the options ”Active” and “Inactive”. Leave the field blank to retrieve locations irrespective of their status. The system leaves the field blank by default.
Location Type	Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the location. The system lists all the types that are defined in the “Define Location Types” activity. Leave the field blank to retrieve all location types. The system leaves the field blank by default.

Click the “Search” pushbutton, to retrieve the search results.

Note: If all the fields are left blank, the system retrieves all the locations in the multiline.

The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” group box:

Location Code	The location retrieved by the system.
Desc.	The description of the location.
Parent Loc.	The parent location of the location.
Planning Group	The planning group of the location.
Landmark	The landmark that helps in identifying the location.
Location Type	The type to which the location belongs.
Status	The status of the location, which can be “Active” or “Inactive”.

Click the hyperlinked location code in the multiline, to edit its details.

Selecting location for modification – An overview

If you know the exact location to be modified, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the location code, its description, the parent location, location type, the planning group of the location, the landmark and status. The system retrieves the details of the location based on the search criteria entered.
