This page allows you to specify the tools that are required for carrying out the preventive maintenance work order. You can enter the tool code, the number of tools required, the number of hours for which the tool is required and any other information about specifying the tool for the preventive maintenance schedule.
Select the “Tools Requirement” link from the bottom of the “Edit Preventive Maintenance” page.
The “Tool Requirement” page appears.
The system displays the following fields:

The preventive maintenance schedule number for which tool requirements must be defined. |
The description of the schedule is displayed alongside. |

The system displays the details of the tools, which are already specified for carrying out preventive maintenance, in the “Tools” multiline.
Enter the following fields in the multiline, if you wish to specify the tools for carrying out preventive maintenance:
Tool Code |
The tool required for carrying out preventive maintenance (Alphanumeric, 30). Ensure that the tool is already defined in the “Define Tool” activity of the “Tool” business component. This field cannot be modified. |

Press <Enter>. The system retrieves the “Description” and “Rate” fields in the multiline. |
The system displays the following field in the multiline:

The textual description of the tool. The system displays this field when you click the “Edit” pushbutton. |
Enter the following fields in the multiline:
Quantity (Nos.) |
The number of tools required (Decimal). Data entry in this field is mandatory if you have specified a tool in the “Tool” field. Ensure that the quantity is positive. |
Duration (Hrs) |
The number of hours for which the tool is required (Decimal). Data entry in this field is mandatory if you have specified a tool in the “Tool” field. Ensure that the duration is positive. |
The system displays the following fields in the multiline:
Rate |
The unit rate per hour of the tool. The system displays this field when you click the “Edit” pushbutton. |
Estimated Cost |
The estimated cost of utilizing the tool for carrying out preventive maintenance. The system displays this field when you click the “Edit” pushbutton. |

Remarks |
Any additional information about specifying the tool for carrying out preventive maintenance (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Check the box in the ”Select:” column of the multiline, to select the tools that you wish to delete from the preventive maintenance.
Click the "Delete" icon to delete the selected tools from the preventive maintenance.
Click the “Edit” pushbutton to update the modified details of the tool.
Note: The system updates the tool details and adds new tools to the preventive maintenance schedule. It also fills in the “Description”, “Rate” and “Estimated Cost” fields in the multiline.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:

The login ID of the user who created the preventive maintenance schedule. |
Created Date |
The date and time at which the preventive maintenance schedule was created. |
Last Modified By |
The login ID of the user who last modified the preventive maintenance schedule. |
Last Modified Date |
The date and time at which the preventive maintenance was last modified. |

Enter the tool that is required for carrying out preventive maintenance in the “Tool Code” in the multiline.
Enter the number of tools required in the “Quantity (Nos.)” field.
Specify the number of hours for which the tool is required in the “Duration (Hrs)” field.
Click the “Edit” pushbutton.
