This page allows you to edit the details of the interval schedules that are already defined for the preventive maintenance template. Tell me more.

The "Interval Schedule" page appears.

The system displays the following fields:

PM Template

The preventive maintenance template number for which intervals must be edited.

The description of the preventive maintenance template is displayed alongside.

Zoom facility available

Interval

The period after which the preventive maintenance must be carried out on the equipment or location (Decimal). Ensure that the interval is a positive number.

Interval Unit

Use the drop-down list box to specify the interval unit. The system provides the options: Days, Weeks, Months and Years.

Interval Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the interval is a fixed interval or an actual interval. The system provides the following options:

  • Fixed Interval Select this option if preventive maintenance must be carried out on equipment or location after the specified period in the Interval field has lapsed, irrespective of whether the previous preventive maintenance is completed or not.

  • Actual Interval Select this option if preventive maintenance must be carried out on equipment or location after the specified period in the Interval field has lapsed and only after the previous preventive maintenance is  completed.

Initial Date

The date on which the preventive maintenance must be started (Date Format). This field should not be left blank, if an interval is specified in the Interval field. Ensure that the date entered in this field is not a past date.

Extended Date

The date on which you wish to start the preventive maintenance (Date Format). Ensure that the date entered in this field is not a past date.

Adjust Next Due Date?

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether you wish to adjust the subsequent dates on which preventive maintenance must be carried out based on the date entered in the Extended Date field. The system provides the options: Yes or No. Do not leave this field blank, if you have specified a date in the Extended Date field.

Parameter

The parameter based on which the preventive maintenance must be done on the equipment or location (Alphanumeric, 30). This field cannot be modified. If you enter a new parameter, ensure the following:

  • The parameter is already defined as a consumption parameter in the Create Parameter activity of the Equipment Induction business component and is in the Active status.

  • The parameter has already been attached to the equipment or the location in the Create Equipment or Create Location activities.

  • The parameter is unique to the multiline.

Help facility available

Press <Enter>. The system retrieves the Interval Unit field in the multiline.

Interval

The value of the parameter after which preventive maintenance must be carried out (Decimal). This field should not be left blank, if a parameter has been specified in the Parameter field. Ensure the following:

  • The interval is a positive number.

  • The interval should be more than the daily usage of the equipment or the location for the parameter.

Note: The daily usage of the equipment or location is computed as the product of the daily run hours of the equipment and the hourly usage of the parameter of the equipment.

The system displays the following fields in the multiline:

Interval Unit

The unit of measurement of the parameter.

First Due At

The value of the parameter on which preventive maintenance is first due to be performed (Decimal). This field should not be left blank, if an interval is specified in the Interval field in the multiline. Ensure that the value is positive.

Extended Value

If you are unable to start work on the preventive maintenance at the value specified in the First Due At field, enter the value of the parameter at which you wish to carry out the preventive maintenance on the equipment or location (Decimal). Ensure that the value entered here is a positive number.

Adjust Next Due Value

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether you wish to adjust the subsequent parameter values on which preventive maintenance must be carried out based on the value entered in the Extended Value field. The system provides the options: Yes and No. Do not leave this field blank, if you have specified a value in the Extended Value field in the multiline.

Calendar OR Usage Sch. whichever earlier

Click this button if you wish to generate a preventive maintenance work order for the earliest of the calendar-based or the usage-based schedules.

Calendar and whichever earlier in Usage

Click this option if you wish to generate preventive maintenance work orders for the calendar-based schedule and for the earliest of the parameters in the usage-based schedules.

Note: The system saves the details of the interval schedules.

The system displays the following fields in the Record Statistics group box:

The login ID of the user who created the template.

Created Date

The date and time at which the template is created.

Editing interval schedules of the preventive maintenance template - An overview

Edit PM Template - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to edit the details of the interval schedules that are already defined for the preventive maintenance template.

If you have defined a calendar-based schedule, you can modify the time interval after which the preventive maintenance is due to be performed, the date on which the initial preventive maintenance must be performed on the equipment/location, the unit of the time interval and the type of the interval.

If you are unable to start the work on the preventive maintenance on the next due date, you can specify the extended date on which you wish to start the preventive maintenance. You are also given the option of adjusting the new due date based on the extended date. This can be explained with the help of the following example:

Suppose preventive maintenance is due to be performed on April 1 and an interval of one week is provided for carrying out the next preventive maintenance. If you have entered an extended date of  April 3 and have set the option of adjusting the next due date as Yes, the system recalculates the next due dates as April 3, April 10, April 17and so on. If you have set the option of adjusting the next due date as No, the system arrives at the next due dates as April 3, April 8, April 15 and so on.

If you have defined a usage-based schedule, you can redefine the parameters based on which the preventive maintenance must be done and the value of the parameter after which the preventive maintenance must be done. You can also modify the parameter value on which the first preventive maintenance is due on the equipment or location. If you are not able to perform the preventive maintenance on the specified parameter value, you can enter the extended value based on which the maintenance can be performed. You can also specify whether the subsequent parameter values must be adjusted or not based on the extended parameter value.

You can also edit the number of work orders that must be generated based on the preventive maintenance schedules.
