Defining predictive triggers – An overview
This page allows you to define trigger actions for the parameters of equipment or location. You can define trigger actions for equipment or location that is selected in the previous page. You can also enter equipment or location in this page and define predictive triggers for it.
You can enter the following details for defining trigger actions for a range parameter:
The parameter based on whose value the action must be triggered
The inspection point on the equipment or location on which the parameter must be measured
The parameter range to indicate that the action must be triggered when the parameter value falls within or outside the range specified
The alarm description that must be displayed when the parameter reaches a value within the specified value. The alarm description is indicative of the criticality of the parameter value. For example, an alarm description of “High” can be assigned to a temperature range greater than 60°C, whereas an alarm description of “Low” can be assigned to a temperature range less than 50°C.
The action that must be performed when the parameter value falls within the specified range. The action can be a “Work Order”, “Work Request” or a simple alert
The work group that is responsible for carrying out the action
The type and category of the work order or work request
The task or procedure that must be performed as a part of the trigger action
You can enter the following details for defining predictive actions for an attribute parameter:
The parameter based on whose value the action must be triggered
The inspection point on the equipment or location on which the parameter must be measured
The value of the parameter at which the trigger action must be performed. You can also specify whether the trigger aciton must be performed for a parameter value other than the specified value.
The alarm description that must be displayed when the parameter reaches a specific value. The alarm description is indicative of the criticality of the parameter value.
The action that be performed when the parameter takes the specified value. The action can be a “Work Order”, “Work Request” or an alert.
The work group that is responsible for carrying out the action
The type and category of the work order or work request
The task or procedure that must be performed as a part of the trigger action
The system stores the trigger actions that are defined and appropriately generates the actions when the parameter reaches the specified value.
You can specify whether the trigger action for a range parameter must be performed when the parameter value falls within or outside the range specified.
Set the “In / Out ?” field as “IN”, to indicate that action must be triggered when the parameter value falls within the specified range.
Set the “In / Out ?” field as “OUT”, to indicate that the action must be triggered when the parameter value falls outside the specified range.
You can specify whether the trigger action for an attribute parameter must be performed for the specified parameter value or a value other then the specified value.
Set the “In / Out ?” field as “IN”, to indicate that action must be triggered when the parameter takes the specified value.
Set the “In / Out ?” field as “OUT”, to indicate that the action must be triggered when the parameter takes a value other than the specified value.
