You can select a tool in this page. You can carry out a search based on the tool number, description, its type or the status. You can also carry out a search based on the serial number of the tool and the equipment code, if the tool has been defined as equipment. Based on the search criteria, the system retrieves the details of the tools.
Click the lens icon positioned next to the “Tools" field in the main screen.
The “Help On Tool” page appears.
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a tool. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

Tool |
The tool for which the details are to be viewed (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the tool number in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all the tool codes that are similar to the value entered here. |

Description |
Enter the full or part of the description of the tool to be viewed (Alphanumeric, 150). The system lists all the tools whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. |

Tool type |
Use the drop-down list box to retrieve tools based on the tool type. The system lists all the tool types that have been defined in the “Define Tool Types” activity. Leave the field blank, to retrieve tools irrespective of the type. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |

Serial No. |
The serial number of the tool (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter the serial number in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all tools with similar serial numbers. |

Equipment Code |
The equipment code of the tool, if the tool is defined as equipment (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the equipment in full or specify it partially. The system retrieves all tools that are attached to similar equipment. |

Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the tool to be viewed, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. The system lists all the tools that are in the status specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve details of all the tools irrespective of their statuses. The system sets the field as “Active” by default. |

Show Sr. No. detail? |
Check this box if you wish to retrieve the tools along with the respective tool serial numbers. |
Note: If all the fields are left blank, the system lists all the tools in the multiline.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system fills in the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:

The serial number of the tool. |

The textual description of the tool. |

Tool Type |
The type of the tool. |

Quantity |
The number of tools inducted into the system. |

Hourly Rate |
The usage cost per hour of of the tool. |

Eqp. Code |
The equipment to which the tool is attached. |
|
Status |
The status of the tool, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the tool.
Click the “Ok” pushbutton.
