This activity allows you to define the format in which these non-standard problem codes must be numbered.
Select the “Option Settings” link under the “Trouble Shooting Guide” business component.
The “Set Function Parameters” page appears.
Enter the following fields:

Prefix For Non Std. Problem Codes |
Enter the prefix for the non-standard problems (Alphanumeric, 5). |

Starting No. |
The number starting from which the non-standard problem code must be generated (Integer). |

The system displays the following field: | |

Next No. |
The number that will be generated by the system, as a combination of the prefix and the starting number, for non-standard problem codes. This field is updated when you click the “Submit” pushbutton. |
Note: If the combination of the prefix and the starting number has already been assigned to an existing routine or non-routine problem code, the system keeps incrementing the number until a unique number is encountered.
Enter the following fields in the “Factors For Severity In Failure Analysis” group box:

Weightage For Production Down Hrs. |
Enter a percentage to indicate the weightage that is to be taken for calculating the severity rating based on production down hours (Decimal). The system assigns 34 to this field by default. |

Weightage For Maintenance Expenses |
Enter a percentage to indicate the weightage that is to be taken for calculating the severity rating based on maintenance expenses (Decimal). The system assigns 33 to this field by default. |

Weightage For Safety Ratings |
Enter a percentage to indicate the weightage that is to be taken for calculating the severity rating based on safety (Decimal). The system assigns 33 to this field by default. |
Click the “Submit” pushbutton.
The system performs the following:
If both the “Prefix For Non Standard Problem Codes” and “Starting No.” fields are left blank, the system generates a unique number starting from “0000001” and displays it in the “Next No.” field.
If the prefix is entered and the “Starting No.” field is left blank, the system generates a unique number combining the prefix entered and a number starting from the “Starting No.” entered and displays the combination in the “Next No.” field.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:
