A maintain task offers the ability to maintain all tasks automatically. It includes activities, skills, tools, spares and other resources. The tasks performed or created according to the activities will be maintained. The type of the task should be selected from the set of user–defined types that have been defined in the “Define Task Types” activity. You can also select the category to which the task belongs, from the set of user–defined categories that have been defined in the “Define Task Categories” activity. The activities of the task can be specified along with the sequence number, to indicate the order in which the activities must be performed.

 

The “Maintain Task page appears.

      - Clicking this icon available near certain fields takes you to the help page of the respective field.

To create a new maintain task details

Task Code                 

A unique code that identifies the task.

Description

On selection of task code, the description is displayed automatically.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to specify the status. The combo is loaded with the values as “Active” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default on the launch of the page. Mandatory.

Category

Use the drop-down list box to select the category to which the task belongs. The system lists all the categories in active status that have been defined in the “Define Task Categories” activity. 

Long Description

The long description of the maintain task is to be specified.

Estimated Duration(Hrs.)

The estimated duration in hours within which the task must be completed.

Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type. The combo box is loaded with clean, erection, oil, etc.

User Def. Text

Enter any other additional information about the task.

Tab – Activities

Activity Description

The description of the activity is to be specified

Sequence No

A number that identifies the sequence is to be provided.

Tab – Skills

Skill Code

A unique code identifying the specified skill.

Description

The description of the skill is displayed.

Duration(Hrs.)

The number of hours for which the skill is required.  If you leave the field blank, the system assigns the task duration.

Quantity(Nos.)

The number of people, who possess the skill, required.

Skill Cost/Hr

The unit rate per hour of the skill is displayed.

Tab – Tools

Tool Code

A unique code that identifies the tool.

Description

The description of the tool is displayed.

Duration(Hrs.)

The number of hours for which the tool is required.

Quantity(Nos.)

The number of tools required to be specified.

Tool Cost/Hr.

The unit rate per hour of the tool is displayed.

Tab – Spares

Item

The standard spare part to be specified for the task.

Variant

The variant of the standard spare part.

Description

The description of the item is to be specified.

UOM

The unit of measurement of the spare part.

Quantity(Nos.)

The number of spares required for the completion of the task.

Warehouse

The warehouse of the spare part. A unique identifying the Warehouse is to be specified.

Item Status

The status of the item is to be specified. Ensure that the status is already defined for the item for the specific warehouse.

Standard Cost/Unit

The cost per unit of utilizing the spare part is displayed.

Description

The description of the non-standard items is to be specified.

UOM

The unit of measurement of the spare part.

Quantity(Nos.)

The number of spares required for the completion of the task.

Cost/Unit

The cost per unit of utilizing the spare part is displayed.

Tab – Other Resource  

Other Resource Code

A unique code identifying the resource.

Description

The textual description of the resource.

Duration(Hrs.)

The total number of hours for which the resource is required.

Quantity(Nos.)

The number of resources required for the completion of task.

Resource Cost/Hr.

The unit rate per hour of the resource.

Created By

The login ID of the user who created the Maintain Task. The date and time at which the Maintain Task was created.

Modified By

The login ID of the user who modified the Maintain Task. The date and time at which the Maintain Task was last modified.
