Create Segment – A summary of the activity

A segment refers to a logical grouping of various “Posting” finance books. A segment is usually created for generating MIS reports, which includes financial statements also. A segment could be a group of finance books from one or multiple companies. You can create two types of segments that is “Business Segment” and “Alternate Segment”. A “Posting” finance book that has been mapped to a “Business Segment” must not be mapped to any other business segments. A “Posting” finance book that has been mapped to an “Alternate Segment” can be mapped to multiple alternate segments.

This page allows you to set the type of segment that you want to create. You can assign a unique code and name identifying the segment. You can also enter a date from which the segment will be in effective use. This page also allows you to select the code identifying the company and the finance book that is to be grouped under the segment. The system also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the newly created segment.
