This page allows you to modify the details of a selected segment. You can carry out a search using the type of the segment for which you want to modify the details, the code and the name identifying the segment that you want to modify. You can also modify the date from which the segment would be effective. The system retrieves all the codes identifying the company and the finance book that can be grouped under the segment. This page also allows you to unmap the finance book from the segment if they are no longer required. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified segment details..
Select the “Edit Segment” link under the “Organization Setup” business component.
The “Edit Segment” page appears.
Enter the following fields:

Segment Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the segment that you want to modify from “Business Segment” and “Alternate Segment”. |

Segment |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the segment for which you want to modify the list of finance books that have been mapped. All the segments that have been created for the selected segment type will be available for selection in the ascending order. |

Segment Name |
A textual description of the segment (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. |

Effective Date |
The date from which the segment is effective (Date Format). Mandatory. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the finance book details.
The system retrieves and displays the following in the “Finance Book Details” multiline based on the search criteria entered:

Company Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the company in which the finance books that you want to group under the segment is available. All the codes identifying the company that are in the “Active” status will be available for selection in the ascending order. The system displays “blank” by default at the launch of the page. |

Finance Book |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the finance book that have to be grouped under the segment. All the finance books that have been grouped under the segment will be available for selection in the ascending order. |
The system displays the following in the “Finance Book Details” multiline:

Status |
The status of the finance book. |

Start Date |
The date from which the mapping of the finance book is in active use. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark a finance book that can be included under the segment or removed from the segment.
Click the “Edit Segment” pushbutton to save the modifications made to a segment.
The system updates the changes made in the segment entity.
Note: If the Period End Dates for the companies included in the segment are not in synchronization for the periods considered for report extraction, then the Report on Balance Sheet, Report on Income Statement and Report on Trial Balance cannot be launched for the Segment. However the system does not restrict creation of segments for such companies. This is to support a scenario wherein the period end dates of the companies are not in synchronization for a year. However for the preceding/ succeeding year, the companies have common period end dates. In such a case, the report can be launched for the segment for the periods with common period end date.
The system also updates the login ID of the user and the system date in the “Last Modified By” and the “Last Modified Date” fields.
Click the “Unmap Finance Book” pushbutton to unmap the finance book.
The system updates the changes made in the segment entity.
The system also updates the login ID of the user and the system date in the “Last Modified By” and the “Last Modified Date” fields.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the "Attach Notes" link at the bottom of the page to record your observations.
Select the "View Business Segment" link at the bottom of the page to you to view the details of a segment.
Select the “Collaborate” link at the bottom of the page to record or to view the observations or comments or discussions regarding the document.
The system displays the following:

The login ID of the user who created the segment. |

The date on which the segment was created. |

The login ID of the user who last modified the segment. |

The date on which the segment was last modified. |
