Use this page to create position control IDs for a job for which the position control is set to ‘On”.
Select the “Create Position Control ID” hyperlink in the “Create Position” page.
The “Create Position control ID” page appears.
The system displays the following details at the top of the page.
HR Set Up Unit |
The setup unit in which the HR setup component is deployed. |
Date Format |
The date that is applicable to the login user. |
Position Code |
The unique code of the position for which you want to generate the position control IDs. |
Department |
The department to which the position for which you are generating position control IDs belongs. |
Job |
The job to which the position for which you are generating position control IDs belongs. |
Enter the following.
Position Title |
A title for the position being created. |
Position Desc. |
A description for the position being created. |
Inactive |
Select the check box if you want to make the position control ID details inactive. This will make the details unavailable for use in other activities. |
No. Of Posts |
The number of posts required for the position. |
Position Control ID series |
From the drop down list box, select the required position control ID series to which you want to attribute the position. |
Effective From Date |
The date from which the position is effective. |
Select the “Generate Position Control ID” pushbutton. The system generates a position control ID for the number of posts specified. For example, if the number of posts specified is six, the system generates six position control Ids.
You can view the IDs in the “Position Control ID” multiline.
Position Control ID |
The position control ID generated by the system. You can also modify this value. |
Position Title |
The title of the position. You can modify this value. |
Select the “Create Position Control ID” pushbutton, at the bottom of the page, to save the details entered.

Select the data hyper link on ‘Position Title ’ in the multiline to move to the ‘Specify Position Control ID Attributes’ page .
