Use this page to view the position whose details you want to view.
Select “View Position” from the "View Quick Codes" page.
The “View Position” page appears.
The system displays the following.
Date Format |
The date that is applicable to the login user. |
Enter the following.
HR Set Up Unit |
The setup unit in which the HR setup component is deployed. |
Position Control On |
From the drop down list box, select “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether the position control feature is enabled or disabled for the job applicable to the selected position. |
Select the required position record, either through the “Direct Entry” group box or through the “Search Criteria” group box.
To select through Direct Entry
Use this method if you know the complete codes of the required position and position control ID.
Enter the position code and the position control ID code in the corresponding fields.
Select the “View Position” hyperlink beside to view the position details.
The “View Position” page appears. All details of the selected record are displayed.
To select through Search Criteria
Use this method if you know just a few characters of the position and position control ID code
Enter the following fields.
Position Code |
To view all the position codes containing specific characters, type in the starting character(s) of these codes. Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. For example, if you specify the search parameter as PSN*, the system fetches the position records beginning with PSN, as in PSN005, PSN007. |
Position Control ID |
To view all the position codes containing specific characters, type in the starting character(s) of these codes. Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. For example, if you specify the search parameter as PC*, the system fetches the position records having the position control ID code beginning with PC, as in PC003, PC005 . |
Department |
To view all the department descriptions containing specific characters, type in the starting character(s) of these descriptions. Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. For example, if you specify the search parameter as sys*, the system fetches the records with department descriptions beginning with sys, as in systems. |
Job Title |
To view all the job titles containing specific characters, type in the starting character(s) of these descriptions. Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. For example, if you specify the search parameter as mgr the system fetches the records with job titles beginning with mgr. |
Position Title |
To view all the position titles containing specific characters, type in the starting character(s) of these descriptions. Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. For example, if you specify the search parameter as mgr the system fetches the records with position titles beginning with mgr. |
Select the “Search” pushbutton.
Note: If only one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records that satisfy this value.
If more than one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records satisfying all the specified values.
If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box and select the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records that are applicable to the selected employee movement unit.
The system displays the following details in the multiline, for the position records that satisfy the search criteria specified.
Position Code |
The unique code of the position. |
Position Control ID |
The code of the position control ID of the position. |
Position Title |
The title of the position ID. |
Department Code |
The code of the department to which the position belongs. |
Department Desc. |
The description of the department to which the position belongs. |
Job Code |
The code of the job to which the position is applicable to. |
Job Title |
The title of the job applicable to the position. |
Status |
Indicates whether the position ID is active and available for use or otherwise. This field takes one of the two values: ”Yes” or “No”. |

Select the “View Position ” hyperlink to edit the details of the position.
Select the “View Position Control ID’s Attributes” hyperlink to edit the details of the position control ID.
