This page allows you to search and select an item code and transfer the details to the field where it is required.
You can search for an item code by specifying the item code, variant code, item short description, variant short description, item description and item type as the filter criteria. Based on the specified search criteria, the system retrieves all the item codes that are in “Active” status. The selected item code is transferred to the required page when the OK button is executed.
Click the lens icon positioned next to the “Item Code” field.
The “Help on Item Variant” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for an account code.

Item Code |
The code identifying the item that you wish to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 32). You can specify this code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the item codes that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the items irrespective of the item code on the execution of “Search” button. |

Variant Code |
The code of the variant, if the item is variant enabled (Alphanumeric, 8). You can specify this code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the variant codes that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the items irrespective of the variant code on the execution of “Search” button. |

Item Short Desc. |
A keyword or short description of the item to enable easy identification (Alphanumeric, 75). You can specify this description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the item short descriptions that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the items irrespective of the item short description on the execution of “Search” button. |

Variant Short Desc. |
A keyword or short description of the variant to enable easy identification (Alphanumeric, 75). You can specify this description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the variant short descriptions that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the items irrespective of the variant short description on the execution of “Search” button. |

Item Desc. |
A textual description of the item (Alphanumeric, 150). You can specify this description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the item descriptions that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the items irrespective of the item description on the execution of “Search” button. |

Item Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of item. The system displays the options, “Raw material”, “Component”, “Intermediate”, “Finished Product”, “Spare part”, “Tool”, “Consumable”, “Utility”, “Capital”, “Kit”, “Model”, “Packing Material”, “Sundry”, “Scrap”, “Phantom” and “Reference Item”. The system retrieves all the items based on the selected item type on the execution of “Search” button. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
The system retrieves and displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline based on the search criteria entered:

Item Code |
The code identifying the item. |

The code of the variant, if the item is variant enabled. |

Item Variant Desc. |
A textual of the item/variant. This description is a combination of the item short description and variant short description. |

Item Type |
The type of item. An item can be of only one of the item types. |

Stock UOM |
The Unit of Measurement of the Item |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select an item code.
Click the “OK” pushbutton.
