This page allows you to Map an account type to tax category or to unmap the account type from a tax category.

The “Map/Unmap Account Type To Tax Category” page appears.

Tax Type

Use the drop-down list box to, select the required type of tax. Tax type is the type of tax, such as, VAT, TDS. On launch of the page tax type field is blank.

Tax Community

Use the drop-down list box to, select the required tax community. Tax community is the name of the authority administering the tax laws for example India, USA and EU. On launch the page this field is blank. On selecting a tax type, the list will contain the values of tax communities linked to the tax type selected.

Tax Category

Use the drop-down list box to, select the required category of tax.

Tax category identifies the types of business or trade transactions to indicate the applicability of tax. Tax category can be for example, Export, Import, and Exempt Purchase.

On launch of the page the system displays blank. On selecting the tax type and tax community the tax categories linked to the combination will be available in the list box.

The system displays the following field:

Desc.

The textual description of the tax category selected.

The system displays the following fields in the “Tax Account Type Details” Multiline:

Tax Account Type

Tax account type for example, SERPPY, and TCVAL.

The system fills the multiline with all Tax Account Type records available for the Tax Type, Tax Community combination in the ascending order of Tax Account Type.

Desc.

The textual description for the tax account type.

Status

Whether Mapped or Unmapped

You must select at least 1 multiline record for mapping or to remove from mapping.

Only a record with status “Mapped” can be removed from mapping and similarly only an unmapped record can be mapped.

You cannot unmap a tax category – Account type combination if it is used in the tax calculation component.

You cannot also unmap a combination, if transactions are pending to be posted.

On clicking “Unmap” pushbutton the system removes the relationship and changes status to Unmapped. It also notes the login ID of the user and the system date. The screen is refreshed with Tax Type, Tax Community, Tax Category and Description in the header. The multiline displays the Account Type mapped to the Tax Category. The records are sorted alphanumerically in ascending order of Account Type. The Account Type, Description and Status are displayed.

On clicking “Map” pushbutton all the selected records are mapped. The mapping relationship and the user ID of the person who mapped and the system date are noted in the system. The screen is refreshed with displaying Tax Type, Tax Community, Tax Category and Description in the header. The multiline displays all Account Type records, which have been mapped to the Tax Category. These records are sorted alphanumerically, in ascending order. The multiline displays the Account Type, Description, and Status (Mapped/Unmapped).

The system also displays the following fields:

Last Modified By

The login ID of the user who last mapped or unmapped account type to tax category.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the mapping was last modified.
