Using online help

This page allows you to map a tax category to a tax class. It also allows you to unmap a tax category from a tax class. After defining Tax category and Tax class, you can map Tax class for a Tax category.

The “Map / Unmap Category And Class” page appears.

Tax Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the tax type you require Mandatory. The drop-down list contains codes of tax types. On launch of the page the default is blank.

Tax Community

Use the drop-down list to select the required tax community for the tax type, Mandatory. The drop-down list contains tax communities attached  to the tax type selected by you.

Tax Category

Use the drop-down list to select the required tax category to map or to remove from mapping, Mandatory..

All the user-defined tax categories in status “Active” are in the drop-down list.

The system displays the following field:

Description

The textual description for the selected tax category.

Tax Class From

Must not be greater than value in “To”. All tax class data from the code entered will be displayed (Alphanumeric, 40)

To

Tax class data till the code entered will be displayed. If both from and to are not given all tax class data will be displayed (Alphanumeric, 40)

Note: Either the tax category or the tax class that is required to be mapped must be user-defined.

The system displays the following fields in the “Class Details” Multiline:

Tax Class

For the tax type and tax community chosen, active tax class is displayed.

Description

The textual description relating to the tax class.

Status

Mapped/Unmapped.

The system also displays the following fields:

Last Modified By

The login ID of the user  who last mapped the combination of tax category - tax class.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the mapping was last modified.

Note: The system-defined mappings will not be deleted by the system.
