This page allows you to map the different taxes whose calculations are interlinked. Certain taxes are calculated on an amount that includes other taxes. For example, sales tax is calculated on the base price plus excise tax. In such cases, for the purpose of calculation, mapping links the different taxes.
Select the “Set Tax to Tax Mapping” link in the “Maintain Tax & Tax Community” page.
The “Set Tax to Tax mapping” page appears.
The system displays the following fields”:
Tax Type |
The “Tax Type” selected by you in “Maintain Tax type & Tax Community” page. |
Tax Community |
The “Tax Community” selected by you in “Manage Tax type & Tax Community” page. Example, India. |
Type Name |
Whether “Pre-Defined”, or “User-Defined”. |
Note: If the selected type is predefined, mapping details available in the system will be displayed. If the selected type is user defined, system defaults value in Applied on column in the multiline to “No”.
Reverse mapping for User Defined Tax Type- Tax Community is not allowed. For example, if Tax Type "TDS" is mapped to include Service Tax by selecting TDS in the header and Service Tax in the multiline, Service tax can not again be mapped in the header to include TDS in multiline. This validation avoids mutual dependencies.
The system displays the following fields in the “Tax Mapping Details” multiline in page “Set Tax to Tax Mapping”:
Tax Type |
List of all the tax types already defined. |
Tax Community |
The respective communities to which each tax type belongs. |
