Edit Item Independent UOM Conversion
This page allows you to modify conversion factors that are already added using the Create Item Independent UOM Conversion page. Item independent conversion involves conversion of a standard UOM to another and the conversion does not depend on the nature of the item. The conversion factor is universal in these cases,for example the conversion of Meters to Centimeters or Kilograms to Grams.
Select the “Edit Item Independent UOM Conversion” link under the " UOM Administration" business component.
The “Edit Item Independent UOM Conversion” page appears.
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the UOM, for which you wish to modify the conversion factor. Data entry in the following fields is optional.
From UOM |
The code identifying the UOM, for which the conversion factor has to be modified (Alphanumeric, 10).The system fetches all the UOM codes starting from the code entered here. |
From UOM Desc. |
The description of the UOM, for which the conversion factor has to be, modified (Alphanumeric, 40). The system fetches all the UOM descriptions starting from the description entered here. |
To UOM |
The code identifying the UOM, for which the conversion factor has to be modified (Alphanumeric, 10).The system fetches all the UOM codes till the code entered here. |
To UOM Desc. |
The description of the UOM, for which the conversion factor has to be, modified (Alphanumeric, 40). The system fetches all the UOM descriptions till the description entered here. |
UOM Class |
The code identifying the UOM class. |
UOM Class Desc. |
The textual description of the UOM class. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline based on the search criteria entered:

A unique code identifying the UOM. |

A textual description of the UOM. |
From UOM Class |
The UOM class, which is to be converted. |
Equals |
The “=” sign is defaulted in this field. |
Modify following field if required:
Conversion Factor |
The conversion factor (Numeric 15). Mandatory. Ensure that this value is greater than zero. |
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline based on the search criteria entered:

The code identifying the UOM, to which the “From UOM” field is to be converted. |
To UOM Desc. |
The description of the UOM. |
To UOM Class |
The class to which the “From UOM Class” field is converted. |
Conversion Type |
The type of conversion. |
Created by |
The login ID of the user who defined the conversion factor. |
Create Date |
The date on which the conversion factor was defined. |
Last Modified by |
The login ID of the user who lastly modified the conversion factor. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the conversion factor was last modified. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the UOM conversion factor for deletion and attaching notes.
Click the “Edit UOM Conversion” pushbutton to update the modified details.
Click the “Delete” pushbutton to delete the selected conversion factor.
