Capacity Requirements Plan – An Overview
Using this report the planner can find the capacity problems by comparing the available capacity in Standard hours to the capacity requirements. This report gives you the picture of the total summary of the capacity requirements displayed for the resource and time period. In addition, you can also view the average capacity requirement that helps you to identify the real problem situations. For example, a trend or a long term overload rather than a spike that a production controller will react to.
This page allows you to set the criteria to generate a report for the combination of the resource and the time interval under each business unit. You can generate a capacity requirements plan by selecting the business unit along with the plant in the search criteria. You can specify the range of start and end dates as a part of the search criteria. The control unit that identifies the department to which each resource belongs can also be set as a part of the criteria. You can also select the appropriate time interval as “Daily”, “Weekly” or “Monthly” and can specify the resource based on which the report is generated and displayed.
On generating the report, the system retrieves and displays the maximum, available and required capacities of the resource. The factor that indicates whether the resource is overloaded or under loaded is also calculated and displayed as the Load Factor. Further, you can view the capacity requirements for four periods consecutively. All the transactions are displayed for the business unit, resource and for the department.
