Legacy Data Upload – An overview

Introduction

When a company is entering into a new environment from the legacy system, the entire balances need to be incorporated into the new system. This is carried out by the Legacy Data Upload component. For this purpose, the company’s accounts codes must be created in the "Chart of Accounts".

In case of multiple finance books, the legacy data will have to be uploaded in the respective finance books only.

This component allows upload of legacy data required for the years before the installation of Ramco Enterprise Series. Legacy data is required to compare the financial statements of the current years with that of the earlier years.

Feature Highlights

• Option to upload legacy data using Microsoft Excel. In this process the data has to be downloaded in to a Microsoft Excel file. This file has to be modified to the format required by the Respective Components and then uploaded in to the system.

• Provision to define data history in the system for a user-defined period prior to the data upload date. For this purpose, the prior financial periods need be defined in the financial calendar definition. The data can be uploaded during the financial year.
