Using online help

This page allows you to specify the quantity of promotion applicable for each item in the sale order. Promotion is the use of a price off or value-added offer or incentive for the purpose of influencing purchasing behavior. Promotions can be seen as temporary efforts to create extra interest in the products or service by offering values in excess of those afforded by such purchases.

The promotion item details (if applicable) is populated from the “Pricing- Promotions, Deals/ Rules Mapping” business component for individual item in the sale order. The rate of the promotion item will be “Zero” because the promotion items are generally free good quantity.

The "Specify Promotion Items" page appears.

The system displays the following details:

Order Status

The status of the sale order.

Order No.

The unique number identifying a sale order.     

Amendment No.

The number identifying an amendment made on the sale order. Every time the sale order is successfully amended, the system increments the amendment number by one.

Order Date

The date on which the sale order was created.

The system displays the following fields in the “Promotion Item Details“ multiline:

Order Line No.

The number identifying the line item in the sale order. The system ensures that this field is not left blank. If the order number is not null, then the system checks if the line number is a valid line number for the order number.

Item Code

The code identifying the line item.

Variant Code

The code identifying the item variant.

Promotion Item Code

The code identifying the promotion item.

Promotion Variant Code

The code identifying the variant of the promotion item.

UOM

The unit of measurement for the promotion item.

Qty.

The quantity of the promotional item available (Integer).

The system displays the following details:

Rate

The rate of the promotion item.

Promotion Item Desc.

The description of the promotion item.

The system saves the promotion details for the Sale Order created.
