This page allows you to modify or define relevant information in the form of notes. This page can be launched directly or launched from the page for which the notes have to be added or modified. In case of displaying this page directly, the Standard Notes ID has to be entered along with the notes details. In case of displaying it from other pages, then the system populates the Document No with the number or code from the page where the notes were invoked.
For example, if this page has been launched from the product structure page then the document no will be the PS no. If the standard notes ID have to be reused with the notes details for the above PS no, then the same standard notes ID with the notes can be attached to the document number without modifying the notes details. If the standard notes ID has to be reused with some modification to the existing note details, then new standard notes ID has to be assigned and the existing notes ID cannot be reused. You can also view the object attachments by entering and saving the file name of the object as a hyperlink. On refreshing the screen, the filename appears as a hyperlink alongside the field. You can click the link to view the corresponding object’s graphical representation.
Select the “Edit Notes” link under the “Organization Model” business component.
The “Edit Notes” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Document No. |
The unique number identifying the notes that is defined. If the document number exists and the notes details also exist for the document number, then the system retrieves the notes details for the document number. |
Note: If this page is directly launched, then the document number is left blank. If this page is launched from the calling page, then the value to this field will be the unique number from the calling page.
Modify the following details, if required:
Notes Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user-defined type of notes type as defined in types master from the “Organization Model” business component. The system displays “First Value” by default on launch of the page. |
Note: On selecting each of the type, the system automatically refreshes the screen and retrieves the corresponding details.
Standard Notes Id. |
The unique id identifying the standard notes defined. If the notes page is launched directly, the standard notes id should not be blank. If the standard notes id is specified, it should exist in the notes master. The system retrieves the notes details for the standard notes id. |
Click the “Get” pushbutton to retrieve the notes details that matches the data entered in Standard Notes ID field.
Modify the following details in the Notes Edit box, if required:

Note: If all the three notes fields are left blank, then the system displays an error message.
Enter the following details in the “Maintain Attachments” group box:
The path identifying the object at which the object attachment can be viewed. |
Note: On initiating the “Edit Notes” pushbutton the system saves the above specified filename as a hyperlink and the same can be viewed by refreshing the screen. The link name is overwritten with the same filename as specified in the enterable field before save operation. This link can be used to view the appropriate object attachment.
This field is repeated for each of the link mentioned below. You can specify the path, save the path as a hyperlink. Upon refreshing the screen, you can initiate the link provided alongside of this enterable field to view the object.
Select the “Show document1” link to view the object attachment that depicts the graphical representation of the object.
Select the “Show document2” link to view the object attachment that depicts the graphical representation of the object.
Select the “Show document3” link to view the object attachment that depicts the graphical representation of the object.
Click the “Edit Notes” pushbutton to modify the notes details.
The system checks the following:
1. If the notes are directly launched, then the standard notes id is mandatory. If the standard notes id is left blank then the system displays an error message. If the notes details already exist then the system appends the details. Otherwise, creates new notes.
2. If the notes details are launched from other pages, then the notes type will be populated with “Planning Bill”, “Activity”, “Product structure” or “Process Plan” options. The standard notes id will be left blank. For example, if the notes page is launched from a product structure page then the document no will be filled with the PS no along with the notes details (if any). If the standard notes id has to be reused for the above PS no without modifying the existing notes details, the document number will be saved with the existing standard notes id. If the standard notes id has to be reused for the above PS no with some modification to the notes details then the existing standard id cannot be used. In such case, new standard notes id will be generated by the system.
The system saves the specified filename in the “Maintain Attachments” as a hyperlink provided alongside and refreshes the page. Upon refreshing the page, the hyperlink is overwritten with the specified filename.
The login user ID and the system date are updated in the “Created By”, “Created Date”, “Edited By” and “Edited Date” fields.
The system displays the following:
