This activity allows you to maintain codes that identify the code types defined for problem, rejection, scrap and hold. You need to attach the appropriate code for each of the type by specifying the code in the multiline. Along with the code, you must also specify the description that identifies the code type defined. By defining the codes for the code types, you can identify whether it represents a problem or rejection or scrap or hold.
You can also retrieve the details of the code types already defined by selecting the appropriate code type. On selection, the system refreshes the page and displays the corresponding code details in the multiline. The system updates the code details for the selected code type.
Select the “Maintain Codes” link under the “Organization Model” business component.
The “Maintain Codes” page appears.
Enter the following fields:

Use the drop-down list box to select the object of the code type for which code must be defined. You can select from "Problem", "Rejection", "Scrap" or "Hold". The system displays “Problem” by default on launch of the page. |

Use the drop-down list box to select the “Maintained By” control units for which the login user has at least “View” access permission. The system displays “Default Maintained By” by default for the login user. |
Enter the following details in the “Code Details” multiline:

The unique identifier of the code that is being defined for the object selected in the code type. Mandatory. The code should not be blank. |
Press <Enter> key. | |
The system retrieves the code details for the selected code type. |
Note: The code cannot be modified for the code type. Once the code is created for the code type, it cannot be modified.

The description of the code type. Mandatory. If code is specified, then the code description should not be left blank. |
Note: If new code is added for the selected code type then the code type and code combination should be unique. For example, if new code is defined for the code type selected as “Problem” then the problem code type and code defined for the code type should be unique.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the codes for maintaining its details.
Click the “Maintain Codes” pushbutton to maintain the codes.
The system ensures that the login user should have at least “Modify” access permission to the “Maintained By” control unit of the code. The system saves the modified details. For the new codes added, the system updates the existing code description.
The login user ID and the system date are updated in the “Created By”, “Created Date”, “Edited By” and “Edited Date” fields.
The system displays the following:
