This activity allows you to modify the type details. You can select the appropriate object type for which you need to modify the details. You can also select the purpose and control units and initiate the search to retrieve the corresponding type details. The description of the type can also be modified. On modifying the necessary details, you can update the changes made to the types.
Select the “Edit Types” link under the “Organization Model” business component.
The “Edit Types” page appears.
Modify the following details, if required:

Use the drop-down list box to select the object for which type must be defined. The system displays “Activity” by default on launch of the page. If the type is selected, then the system retrieves the details for the type, purpose and maintained by combination. The options available are: |

Use the drop-down list box to select the purpose at which the type must be defined for the selected object. The system displays “Blank” by default on launch of the page. The options available are: |

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the type. The system displays “Active” by default on launch of the page. The options available are: |

Maintained By |
Use the drop-down list box to select the “Maintained By” control units for which the login user has at least “View” access permission. The system displays “Default Control Unit” by default as defined for the login user. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the type details.
The system retrieves the type details for the selected type and purpose combination.
The system displays the following detail in the “Type Details” multiline:
Type Name |
The unique name identifying the type that is being defined for each of the object selected in the type field. The type name should not be left blank. |
Modify the following details in the “Type Details” multiline, if required:
Description |
The description for the type being defined. Mandatory. The type description should not be left blank . |
Note: All the type name specified should exists in the type master for each of the type selected. For example, for the type selected as “Resource” if the type name is specified it should exist in the resource type master.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the types for modifying its details.
Click the “Edit Types” pushbutton to modify the types
The system ensures that the login user has at least “Modify” access permission to the “Maintained By” control unit of the type. The system deletes the type names marked for deletion. The system saves the modified type details. If type field is set to “Notes”, then the system saves the purpose field value with “Blank”.
The login user ID and the system date are updated in the “Created By”, “Created Date”, “Edited By” and “Edited Date” fields.
The system displays the following:
