This page allows you to modify the forecast details for the planning group/item code. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Forecast” link under the “Demand Planning“ business component.
The “Edit Forecast” page appears.
Modify the following details, if required:

Forecast Group |
The unique number identifying the forecast group Mandatory. |

The system ensures that the forecast group exists in the forecast group master and should be in “Draft” or “Active” status and the login user has at least “View” access permission to the “Maintained By” control unit of the forecast group. |

Note: The forecast group should not be left blank, if the fore cast group is left blank then the system generates the forecast group using the "Numbering Type" business component. If the forecast group is specified and exist in the forecast group master, then the system retrieves all the forecast group details else displays an error message and the “Edit Forecast” screen is launched by displaying a blank value in the forecast group field.
Click the “Get” pushbutton to retrieve the forecast group details.

The number of weeks a forecast consumption logic can look backward to consume forecast demand against actual demand. |
Note: The system defaults Look Back field with the values from “Component Parameter” screen. If the field is left blank and if the same is not specified in the “Component Parameter” screen then the Look Back field is set to a higher value i.e. “9999”.

The number of weeks forecast consumption logic could look forward to consume forecast demand against actual demand. |

Allow Consumption |
Select the check box to indicate that actual demands can consume forecast demands. The system leaves the box “Checked” by default on launch of the page. |

Matl Planner |
Use the drop-down list box to select the material planners defined in the control unit. The system populates the values from the control unit master of the “Organization Model” business component. The system displays “Default Material Planner” defined for the login user by default on launch of the page. |
|
Upload File Path |
The path that identifies the location of the uploaded file in the excel format. This file provides exploded view of the forecast items. |
|
Incremental Upload |
Select the checkbox to indicate that the excel file is checked for any modification or addition. If there is any modification/addition then the system compares and replaces the new details after confirmation. If this field is “Unchecked”, then the system deletes the previous information without confirmation and inserts the new details. |
Click the “Upload” pushbutton to retrieve the forecast details.
The system checks the current and previous status of the forecast group and checks the following conditions the excel file for all the cases:
If incremental upload field is “Checked”, then the system updates the item and quantity details with the newly modified values.
If incremental upload field is “Unchecked”, then the system deletes all the existing values and inserts new item and quantity details.
4 If the current and previous status of the forecast group is set to “Draft”, then the forecast details will be updated in the forecast master.
4 If the current status is set to “Active” and the previous status is set to “Draft”, then the system executes each row in the multiline and checks for any errors occurred. If the error does not exist, then the forecast details will be created in the Disposition. If the error exists, then the current status is automatically set to “Draft” status.
4 If the current status is set to “Active” and the previous status is set to “Active”, then the system unconsumes the forecast quantity in the Disposition and updates the modified forecast details. The system also checks for the errors (if any) generated. If the errors are not generated, then the system creates the forecast details in the Disposition.
4 If the current status is set to “Inactive” and the previous status is set to “Active”, then the system unconsumes the forecast quantity in the Disposition and deletes the forecast details in Forecast Master Table also.
4 If the current status is set to “Draft” and the previous status is set to “Active”, then the system unconsumes the forecast quantity in the Disposition and updates the modified forecast details (if the forecast details are modified).
4 If the current status is set to “Inactive” and the previous status is set to “Draft”, then the system unconsumes the forecast quantity in the Disposition.
The system updates the forecast group successfully. If all the rows are executed successfully without throwing any error message, then for every forecast header/item details the system creates the demand and sets the status to “Active” else if any error is generated during execution the system sets the status to “Draft”.

Forecast Plant |
Use the drop-down list box to select the valid plants where the forecast item/planning group is identified. The system populates all the storage administration Organization Units to which demand planning Organization Unit is mapped from E Model. The system displays “First Value” by default on launch of the page. |
Note: The system validates the forecast plant against planning group or item code.

Time Bucket |

Anchor Date |
The start date from which the forecast demands are generated. The date cannot be left blank and should be in valid Date Format. |
Note: When the date is specified in the first row based on which the date is calculated in the second row as sum of the date in the first row and the value specified in time bucket. For example: if the Time Bucket is set to “Weekly” and the date in the first row is specified as “03/06/02” then the date in the second row should be “10/06/02”.

No of Buckets |
The number of periods for which the forecast demands is generated. If planning group/item is specified, then number of bucket cannot be left blank. If this field is specified, it cannot be less than one. |

Bucket Qty |
The quantity that represents the forecast quantity of the item for each bucket. If planning group/item is specified, then bucket quantity cannot be left blank. If this field is specified, it cannot be less than one. |

Confidence % |
The percentage that represents the confidence level of the forecast. If the confidence percentage is specified, it should not be less than zero and greater than 100. The system displays “100” by default on launch of the page. |

Total Qty |
The total quantity of the item for which the forecast demands is generated. The quantity represents the No of Buckets multiplied by Bucket Qty. |

A unique number identifying the forecast reference generated by the system. The system generates the forecast reference using “Numbering Type” business component |

The type of the item. |
Modify the following, if required:

The remarks or comment specified by the user. |
Click the “Get” pushbutton to retrieve the selected forecast details in the multiline.
Click the “Delete” pushbutton to delete the selected rows of the forecast details in the multiline.
The system checks the current status of the forecast group. If it is in “Draft” or “Active” status, then the system deletes the header and multiline details for the selected rows. If the planning group/item code is not mapped to the forecast group, then the system sets the status of the forecast as “Inactive”.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the forecast for modifying its details.
Click the “Edit Forecast” pushbutton to modify the forecast for the selected planning group or item.
The system checks whether the login user has “Modify” access permission to the “Maintained By” control units of the forecast group. If the permission is denied, then the system displays an error message.
The system ensures that at least one planning group/item must have been mapped to the forecast group. The system executes each row and continues until the last row in the multiline. The system deletes all the errors in the error table for the forecast group.
The system checks the status of the forecast group and checks the following condition:

If any rows are marked for deletion, then the system deletes all the forecast details for the forecast ref.

To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Item Forecast” link at the bottom of the page to modify the item forecast details.
Select the “Edit Consumption Demand Category” link at the bottom of the page to modify the consumption demand categories.
Select the “Track Forecast Consumption” link at the bottom of the page to track the forecast consumption details.

You can also update the changes made to excel sheet by uploading the forecast details by specifying the file path. The changes to the excel file in the form of modification or addition can be updated through incremental upload for the selected forecast. You can also modify the details of the forecast for the selected planning group/item in the multiline. You cannot make changes to anchor date, bucket quantity, no of buckets if the anchor date is within the “Demand Time Fence” of the item and variant combination.
Apart from modification, you can also delete the details of the forecast. You can select the records in the multiline and initiate the delete operation to delete the forecast details. The system updates the login user and the system date as a part of modification details.
