Create Sale Account Definition – A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to define a sale account. You can define sale accounts, sales return accounts and COGS accounts based on the events invoice, credit notes and also for the events pertaining to cost of goods sold. These accounts can be defined with or without parameters and in case of definition with parameters; you can set them in the “Set Parameters” page of this activity. In case of defining accounts without parameters, it can be done for a combination of finance book and item account group or for a finance book and item code.
You can also create a sale TCD account based on the sale TCD parameters set in the “Set Parameters” page. The sale TCD account defined can be for the TCD type “Tax”, “Charge” or “Discount”. You can define a sale TCD account for a combination of finance book, TCD type, TCD code and TCD variant. Sale TCD account can also be created with the parameters: TCD type, delivery area, customer group, sale purpose and sale type.

The accounting rule can be defined for the sales account.
Go to “Create Sale Account Definition” page.
Select the applicable event for which the accounts must be defaulted.
Define a single account without any parameters or specify the account definition details based on the parameters.
Create the sale account definition.
Defining sales account based on item account group
Set Function Default “Sales Account Based on Item” to “Yes”.
Go to “Create Sale Account Definition” page.
Specify the item account group and the item code.
Specify the account definition details and create the sale account definition.
Defining sales account based on parameters
The sale account can be defined based on the sales parameter.
Go to “Set Sales Parameter” page.
Specify the sales parameter or the TCD sales parameter.
Create the sale account definition or the TCD sale account definition based on the parameter.
