Deleting sale account definition
This page allows you to delete a sale account. You can delete the sale account, sales return account and the COGS account in this page. The account definitions to be deleted can be searched for based on the following search criteria: item account group, item code, event, finance book, account code, sale type, delivery area code, customer group code, sale purpose, receipt type and reason code. The system retrieves and displays the account details based on the search criteria. You can specify the date till which the account definition is valid and delete the account, so that the account remains valid only till the specified date.
Select the “Delete Sale Account Definition” link under the “Account Rule Definition” business component.
The “Delete Sale Account Definition” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the sale account details.
Item Account Group |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the item account group based on which the sale account has been defined. The system loads all the item account groups (to which items have been mapped for the company) for selection. The system leaves this field blank by default on launch of the page. |
The system displays the following:

Enter the following fields:
Item Code |
The code identifying the item (Alphanumeric, 32). The value entered here must have been defined in the “Item Administration” business component. |

Event |
Use the drop-down list box to select the event whose account definitions must be deleted. You can select from “Order Based Invoice”, “Direct Invoice”, “Credit Note” and “COGS Event”. The system displays “All” by default on launch of the page. |
Finance Book |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the finance book. All the finance books mapped to the login organization unit, for which accounts have already been defined, will be available for selection. The system displays the first finance book in the list by default on launch of the page. |
Account # |
The code identifying the sale account to be deleted (Alphanumeric, 32). |

Sale Order Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the sale order. The system loads the sale order type if the “Sale Order Type” parameter has been set to “Yes”. All the sale order types for which sale accounts have already been defined will be available for selection, which could be “Normal” or “Consignment”. The system leaves the field blank by default on launch of the page. |
Sale Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of sale based on which the transactions are posted to the sale account. All the sale types for which sale accounts have already been defined will be available for selection, which could be "Internal", "External" or "Domestic". The system leaves the field blank by default on launch of the page. |
Sales Channel |
Use the drop-down list box to select code identifying the sales channel based on which the sale account has been defined. All the sales channels for which sale accounts have been defined will be available for selection. The system leaves the field blank by default on launch of the page. |
Delivery Area Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the location at which the goods are delivered. All the delivery area codes that have been defined in the “Delivery Area” business component, for which accounts have already been defined will be available for selection will be available for selection. The system leaves the field blank by default on launch of the page. |
Customer Group Code |
The code identifying the customer group based on which sale account is defined (Alphanumeric, 6). The customer account group must have been defined in the “Create Customer Group” activity of the “Customer Group” business component. |

Sale Purpose |
Use the drop-down list box to select the sale purpose based on which the sale account is being defined. All the sale purposes in “Active” status that have been defined for the login organization unit in the “Category” business component, for which accounts have already been defined will be available for selection will be available for selection. The system leaves the field blank by default on launch of the page. |
Promotion ID |
The code identifying the sales promotion (Alphanumeric, 16). The promotion ID must have been defined in the “Create Promotion” activity of the “Pricing – Promotions, Deals / Rules Mapping” business component. This field is mandatory if the “Promotion ID” parameter has been set to “Yes”. |
Processing Action |
Use the drop-down list box to select the processing action. You can select from “Make”, “Buy” or “Dropship”. The system leaves the blank by default on launch of the page. |
Receipt Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type in which the payment can be received. All the receipt types for which sale accounts have already been defined will be available for selection, which could be "Cash" or "Credit". The system leaves the field blank by default at the launch of the page. |
Reason Code |
The code identifying the reason behind creating a sale account (Alphanumeric, 5). The value entered here must have been defined in the “Maintain Reason Information” activity of the “Reason Definition” business component, for which accounts have already been defined will be available for selection. The system leaves the field blank by default on launch of the page. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the details in the multiline.
The system displays the following in the multiline:
Event |
The event for which sale accounts have been defined like “Order Based Invoice”, “Direct Invoice”, “Credit Note” or “COGS Events”. |
Sale Order Type |
The type of sale order. |
Sale Type |
The type of the sale. |
Sales Channel |
The code identifying the sales channel. |
Delivery Area |
The code identifying the delivery area. |
Customer Group |
The code identifying the customer group. |
Sale Purpose |
The purpose of sale. |
Promotion Id. |
The code identifying the promotion ID. |
Receipt Type |
The type in which the payment can be received. |
Processing Action |
The code identifying the processing action. |
Reason Code |
The code identifying the reason for creating the sale account. |
Sales Account |
The code identifying the account. |
Sales Return Account |
The code identifying the sales return account. |
COGS Account |
The code identifying the cost of goods sold account. |
Effective From Date |
The date from which the sale account is effective. |
Enter the following field:
Valid Upto Date |
The date till which the sales account definition is valid (Date Format). Mandatory. This date must be less than or equal to the end date of the account code and greater than or equal to the effective from date. |
Note: This date must also be greater than or equal to the system date.
The valid upto date for both sales and the COGS account must be same for the same set of parameters.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark account definition details for deletion.
Note: Atleast one record must be selected for deletion in the multiline.
Click the “Delete” pushbutton to delete the account definition details.
The system deletes the sale account definition.
