Deleting customer account definition
This page allows you to delete an external customer account definition. You can search for the customer account to be deleted based on the customer group code, the currency, the account code and the finance book. The system retrieves the customer payables account, customer prepayment account and customer deposits account details based on the search criteria. You can select the customer account definitions and delete them by specifying a valid upto date, after which the account automatically becomes invalid.
Select the “Delete Receivable Account Definition” link under the “Account Rule Definition” business component.
The “Delete Customer Account Definition” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box:
Finance Book |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the finance book. All the finance books mapped to the login organization unit, for which customer accounts have already been defined, are available for selection in the ascending order. The system displays the first finance book in the list by default on launch of the page. |
Customer Group Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the customer group based on which the customer receivables account is defined. The value entered here must have been defined in the “Customer” business component. The system lists the customer group code for which the accounts have been defined for selection. The system displays the first value of the list by default on launch of the page. |

Enter the following fields:
Currency |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the currency in which the account is maintained. All the currencies defined for the login organization unit in the “Organization Set Up” business component, for which the accounts has been defined, will be available for selection. The system displays the base currency of the company by default on launch of the page. |
Account Code |
The code identifying the supplier account, which can be customer receivables account, customer prepayment account or customer deposits account (Alphanumeric, 32). Mandatory. The account code entered here must have been defined in the “Create Operative Chart of Accounts” activity of the “Accounting Setup” business component. |

Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the account definition details.
The system displays the following in the “Account Definition Details” multiline:
Currency |
The currency in which the customer account is maintained. |
Customer Receivable Account Code |
The code identifying the account to which all the transactions pertaining to customer payments are posted. |
Customer Prepayment Account Code |
The code identifying the account to which all the transactions pertaining to the advances paid by the customer are posted. |
Customer Deposits Account Code |
The code identifying the account to which all the transactions pertaining to customer deposits are posted. |
Effective From Date |
The date from which the customer account definitions are effective. |
Enter the following field:
Valid Upto Date |
The date till which relevant transactions can be posted to the customer accounts (Date Format). Mandatory. The date entered must be greater than or equal to the effective from date and less than or equal to the end date of the account code. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the account definition details.
Click the “Delete” pushbutton to delete the customer account definition.
Note: Atleast one row in the multiline must be marked for deletion.
The system deletes the account codes for the selected finance book, customer group and currency and also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Delete TCD Account Definition” link at the bottom of the page to delete the TCD account definition.
