Defining external links

This page allows you to define external links from a view by specifying the business activity and business component identifiers of the link. You can also transfer the data from the calling page to the external link.

The “Define External Links” page appears.

The system displays the following fields:

View Display Name

The name of the view, as it appears in the “Inquiries” activity.

View Type

The type of the view, which could be “Adhoc”, “Audit” or “Report”.

View Access

The access type of the view. It can be either “Public” or “Private”.

The system displays the current record and the total number of records.

A                          When there are no records specified for the view, a new record appears when the screen is invoked. If records are available, the last record appears when the screen is invoked. To add a new record, go to the last record and click “Next”.

Link Display Name

The name of the link, to be displayed in the view output (Alphanumeric, 255).

Target Component Name

The name of the business component to which the link belongs (Alphanumeric, 255).

Target Activity Name

The business activity to which the link belongs (Alphanumeric, 255).

Target ILBO Name

The name of the Internet Layer Business Object (ILBO) defined for the link (Alphanumeric, 255).

Target Link ID

The link ID of the published link. (Integer).

Target Link Name

The name of the link that must be invoked from the view (Alphanumeric, 255).

Context OU Column

Use the drop-down list box to specify the context OU column. The system lists all the numeric columns defined for the view.

Control Name

The name of the control in the published link of the target page to which data has to be transferred. (Alphanumeric, 255).

Control View Name

The view name of the control in the published link of the target page to which data has to be transferred. (Alphanumeric, 255).

Data item Name

The data items in the published link. (Alphanumeric, 255).

Column Alias

Use the drop-down list box to specify the alias column. The system lists all the column aliases defined for the view. Data is transferred from this column to the target page.
