Attaching procedures to equipment or location

This page allows you to attach procedures to the equipment/location or to a permit. Tell me more.

Select the “Attach Procedures” link from the “Select Equipment/Location” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked equipment or location from the multiline of the same page.

The “Attach Procedures” page appears.

Enter the following fields:

Map Procedures To	Click the radio button and select in the drop-down list box the maintainable object for which procedures must be attached. The system provides the options “Equipment” and “Location” in the drop-down list box. The system displays “Equipment”, by default.
Code	The equipment or location to which you wish to attach procedures (Alphanumeric, 30).
	Press <ENTER>. The system retrieves all the procedures that are already attached to the equipment or location.
Permit Type	Click the radio button if you wish to attach procedures to a permit type.
	Use the drop-down list box provided alongside, to select the permit type for which you wish to attach procedures. The system retrieves in the multiline, all the procedures that are already attached to the selected permit type.

Enter the following fields in the “Procedures” multiline:

Procedure Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the procedure that you wish to attach to the equipment or location. The system provides the options: “Safety Procedure” and “LOTO Procedure”. The system leaves the field blank, by default.
Procedure	The procedure that must be attached to the equipment or location (Alphanumeric, 30). Ensure the following:
	If you have specified “Safety Procedure” in the “Procedure Type” field, ensure that the safety procedure is already created in the “Create Safety Procedure” activity and is in the “Active” status.
	If you have specified “LOTO Procedure” in the “Procedure Type” field, ensure that the lockout or tagout procedure is already defined in the “Create Lockout/Tagout Procedure” activity and is in the “Active” status.

The system displays the following field in the multiline:

The description of the procedure.

Enter the following field:

Default?	Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the procedure must be set as the default procedure of the equipment or location or the permit type. The system provides the options: “Yes” and “No”. Leave the field blank if you do not wish to specify whether the procedure must be defaulted or not. The system leaves the field blank, by default,
Remark	An additional information about attaching the procedure to the equipment or location (Alphanumeric, 255).

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the procedure that you do not wish to attach to the equipment or location.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the selected procedures.

Note: The system attaches the procedures to the equipment/location or to the permit type.

Attaching procedures to equipment or location – An overview

This page allows you to attach procedures to the equipment/location or to a permit type. You can attach procedures to the equipment or location that is selected in the previous page. You can also enter equipment or location in this page and attach procedures to it. You can either attach procedures to an equipment/location or to a permit type.

Procedures can either be a lockout or a tagout procedure or it can be a safety procedure. You can also set the procedure as defaults for the equipment/location or to the permit type. These procedures will automatically be defaulted to the clearance permit that is created for such equipment or locations.

The system attaches the procedures to the equipment/location or permit type and stores the login ID of the user who s attached the procedures along with the date and time of attachment.

Set the procedures that are attached as the default procedures for the equipment/location or to the permit type.

Attach procedures to equipment/location or to permit type

Click the “Map Procedures To” radio button and select “Equipment” or “Location” in the drop-down list box. Based on the option selected in the drop-down list box, enter the identifier of the equipment or location for which procedures must be attached.
Click the “Permit Type” radio button and select the permit type to which you wish to attach procedures.

Set the procedures that are attached as the default procedures for the equipment/location or to the permit type.

Select “Yes” in the “Default?” field in the “Procedures” multiline to set the procedures that are attached as default for the equipment/location or to the permit type.
Select “No” in the “Default?” field in the “Procedures” multiline not to set the procedures as default for the equipment/location or to the permit type.
