Select the hyperlinked classification in the "Prameter" multiline of the “Select Specification Template” page.
The “Edit Specification Template” page appears.
Enter the following fields, if you wish to edit a classification other than the classification selected in the previous page:

Classification |
The classification to be edited (Alphanumeric, 30). Help facility available. |

Press <Enter>. The system retrieves the description of the classification in the edit box alongside. You can enter the modified description (Alphanumeric, 150). |

Enter the following fields:

Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the classification to “Active” or “Inactive”. Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the classification from future reference in other activities. |

Sub-Classification |
The sub-classification of the classification (Alphanumeric, 30). |
|
Enter the description of the sub-classification in the edit box alongside (Alphanumeric, 150). Zoom facility available. |
|

Specification Template |
The number given by the equipment vendor for the specification template (Alphanumeric, 30). |
Enter the following field in the “Parameter” multiline:

Parameter |
The parameter to be attached to the classification being defined. This parameter should have already been defined in the “Create Parameter” activity and should be in “Active” status (Alphanumeric, 30). |

Press <Enter>. The system retrieves the “Description”, “Type” and “UOM” fields in the multiline. |

Note: The parameter number should be unique within the multiline.
The system retrieves the following fields in the multiline:

Desc. |
The textual description of the parameter. |
|
Type |
The type of the parameter, which could be "Attribute", "Consumption", "Range" or "Technical". |
|
UOM |
The unit of measurement of the parameter. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to remove the parameter from the classification.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the selected parameters from the classification.
Enter the following fields in the “Task/Proc. Categories” multiline:

Task / Proc. |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether a task or procedure must be attached to the classification. The system provides the options “Task” and “SP”. |

Category Code |
The task or procedure that is attached to the classification (Alphanumeric, 30). If you are specifying a task, ensure that it is already defined in the “Create Tasks” activity of the “Task” business component and is in “Active” status. If you are specifying a procedure, ensure that it is already defined in the “Create Procedure” activity of the “Task” business component and is in “Active” status. |

Press <Enter>. The system retrieves the “Description” field in the multiline. |
Note: Ensure that the “Task/SP – Code” combination is unique in the multiline.
The system displays the following field in the multiline:

The description of the task or procedure. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to remove the task or procedure from the classification.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the selected tasks or procedures from the classification.
Click the “Edit” pushbutton to edit the classification.
Note: The system stores the modified details for the specification template.
The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:

The login ID of the user who created the specification template. |

The date and time on which the specification template is created. |

Last Modified By |
In this activity, this field contains the login ID of the user who created the specification template. |

In this activity, this field contains the date and time on which the specification template is created. |
Editing a specification template – An overview
You can edit the details of a specification template selected in the previous page. You can also enter a specification template in this page and edit its details. You can re-define the parameters and the task or procedure categories that are attached to the specification template. The system modifies the specification template and stores the login ID of the user who has modified the template along with the date and time of modification.

Modify the parameter associated to the specification template, in the “Parameter” field in the “Parameter” multiline. If you wish to add more parameters, enter new parameter codes in the multiline rows.
Modify the task or procedure category in the “Code” field in the “Task / SP Categories” multiline. If you wish to add more task / procedure categories, enter new task / procedure codes in the multiline rows.
Click the “Edit” pushbutton.
