Select the “Also Down Equipment” link at the bottom of the “Edit Equipment” page.
The “Also Down Equipment” page appears.
If you wish to define the dependency relationship for an equipment other than the equipment selected in the main page, enter the following field:

Press <Enter>. The system retrieves in the multiline, the details of the dependent equipment that are already defined for the equipment. The description of the equipment is displayed alongside. |

If you have already defined the dependency relationship for the equipment, the system displays the details of the dependent equipment in the multiline.
You can add more dependent equipment by entering the following field in the "Also Down Eqp." multiline:

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark the equipment for eliminating it from the equipment dependency equipment relationship.
Click the Delete pushbutton, to eliminate the equipment from the equipment dependency relationship.
Click the “Edit” pushbutton, to update the dependency relationship.

Defining equipment dependency relationship – An overview
An "Also Down" dependency can occur when a set of equipment function in a definite sequence, and the breakdown of an individual equipment in the sequence results in the shutdown of all the other equipment either preceding or following the equipment that has failed. The dependent equipment is defined as the “Also Down” equipment to the main equipment. For example, if a boiler is stopped, then other associated equipments such as pumps, soot blowers, ID fans, FD fans etc., will also be stopped. In this case though only one equipment is down, the others are also down as they are not significant when the main equipment is down.
In this page, you can specify the list of other related equipment that will be down when the equipment breaks down. You can define the dependent equipment for the equipment selected in the main page. The system also allows you to directly enter an equipment code, other than the equipment selected in the main page, and define the dependent equipment for it. You are provided with a help facility to select the dependent equipment. You can also enter any additional information relevant to the equipment dependency relationship.
