Edit details pertaining to the equipment

You can edit the details of the equipment that is already defined in the “Create Equipment” activity.

You can modify all the details of the equipment except its location, parent equipment and the attachment date.

Modify the purchase and manufacturing details of the equipment

Record details such as the manufacturer and the serial number of the manufacturer. Also details like the warranty period and the equipment life can be specified.

Modify equipment place holders

You can identify the placeholders on the equipment for attaching rotables. A rotable is the equipment that moves from equipment to another, during its active life cycle. A rotable is attached to the equipment through a placeholder. A placeholder refers to a specific area or location on the equipment, which can serve as a “seat” for the rotable equipment. For example, if there are two motors to drive the equipment, ‘Drive1’ and ‘Drive2’ could be the placeholders to which rotables such as “Motors” can be attached. A placeholder is used to track the movement of a rotable within the equipment or from one equipment to another.

Modify equipment parameters and the attribute parameter values

Parameters are used to monitor the condition of equipment.

Values can be defined for attribute parameters.

Attach inspection points to the equipment – parameter combination

An inspection point is the physical point on the equipment, where the performance of the equipment is monitored with the help of parameters. The equipment can have more than one parameter, which can be measured on various inspection points. Inspection points are defined for the equipment – parameter combination.

Change the source from which parameters of the equipment must be updated

A parameter value of the equipment can be updated from various sources such as “Manual”, “Parent”, “RTI”, “Parameter” and “Formula”.

Define parameter relationship

A relationship can be defined between a consumption parameter and an attribute parameter, whereby the value of the consumption parameter can be updated by the value of the attribute parameter.

Create a formula

You can create a formula, which can update the value of the parameter whose source has been defined as “Formula”.

Attach a spare structure and specify spare parts to the equipment

You can attach a spare structure to the equipment. A spare structure is a hierarchy of spares that have been defined in the “Define Spare Structure Hierarchy” activity. A spare structure is attached to the equipment in this activity.

You can record the spare parts of the equipment.

Specify trouble shooting guides for the equipment

A trouble shooting guide consists of a list of problems that are commonly reported in the equipment and the corrective action to be taken for solving such problems. The trouble shooting guide attached to the equipment can be referred to, whenever a problem or failure is reported in the equipment.

Attach task or procedure categories to equipment

Task or procedure categories can be attached to equipment, so that the tasks that belong to the category can be utilized for carrying out maintenance activities on the equipment.

Specify off-line periods for the equipment

Off-line period is the period for which preventive maintenance, inspection and calibration need not be carried out on the equipment.

Define equipment dependency relationship of equipment

You can record the relationship of the equipment with other equipment. This relationship is termed as “Also Down” relationship, which lists the other related equipment that would automatically shut down, in the case of an equipment breakdown.

Define calibration details for the equipment

Calibration can be defined as the act of maintaining a piece of measuring equipment in satisfactory working order. The systematic deviation in measurements is determined by comparing the equipment to the measurements of equipment that is in a satisfactory working condition. Minor adjustments are made to the equipment to rectify the deviations, keeping in mind the conditions under which the equipment was put to use.
