Editing parameter

In this page, you can modify the details of the parameter selected in the “Select Parameter” page. Tell me more.

Select the “Edit Parameter” link from the “Select Parameter” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked parameter from the “Search Result” multiline of the same page.

The “Edit Parameter” page appears.

If you wish to modify a parameter other than the parameter selected in the main page, enter the following field:

Parameter	The parameter to be modified (Alphanumeric, 30).
	Press <Enter>. The system retrieves the details of the parameter. The textual description of the parameter is retrieved alongside. You can enter the modified description (Alphanumeric, 150).
	Zoom facility available.
Status	Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the parameter. The system provides the options “Active” and “Inactive”. Set the status as “Inactive”, if you wish to disable the parameter from future reference in other activities.
Type	Use the drop-down list box to modify the type of the parameter. The system provides the following options.
	Technical – Select this option if the parameter provides static information about the equipment.
	Attribute – Select this option if the parameter assumes one of the values from a pre-defined set of values.
	Range – Select this option if the parameter can assume a range of values.
	Consumption – Select this option if the value of the parameter keeps increasing with usage.
	The system displays “Attribute” by default.
UOM	The unit of measurement for the parameter (Alphanumeric, 10). Ensure that the unit of measurement is already defined in “UOM administration” business component in Inventory Management System (IMS) of Ramco Corporate Solutions.
	Data entry in this field is mandatory, if the parameter type is set as “Range” or “Consumption”. Help facility available.

Click the “Edit” pushbutton, to update the modified details of the parameter.

The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Created By	The login ID of the user who created the parameter.
Created Date	The date on which the parameter was created.
Last Modified By	The login ID of the user who last modified the parameter.
Last Modified Date	The date on which the parameter was last modified.

Note: The system updates the details of the parameter and sets the “Last Modified By” field to the name of the currently logged in user and the “Last modified Date” field to the current date.

To proceed, carry out the following

Select the “Attribute Parameter Values” link at the bottom of the page, to modify the values of attribute parameters.

Editing parameter – An overview

The system also allows you to directly enter a parameter, other than the parameter selected in the “Select Parameter” page and retrieve its details for modification. Details such as the parameter type, parameter description and status can be modified. . The system updates the details of the parameter and sets the modified date as the current date and stores the name of the currently logged in user

Parameters can be classified as technical, attribute, range and consumption.

Set the “Type” field to “Technical”, to specify the parameter as a technical parameter.
Set the “Type” field to “Attribute”, to specify the parameter as an attribute parameter.
Set the “Type” field to “Range”, to specify the parameter as a range parameter.
Set the “Type” field to “Consumption”, to specify the parameter as a consumption parameter.

Activate or inactivate a parameter

You can inactivate a parameter in this page. The parameters so inactivated cannot be referred to in other activities

Set the “Status” field to “Inactive” to inactivate a parameter.
