Define Types – A summary of the activity

In this activity, work groups and planning groups can be classified into user-defined types, based on the requirements. For example, you can define types such as “Mechanical” and “Electrical” for the work group as well as for planning groups. It is also possible that your work groups and planning groups are categorized differently. For example, Work Group categories may be “Mechanical” or “Electrical”, while the Planning group categories could be equipment specific, such as Boiler planning group, Turbine planning group etc.

You can define a unique code for the type and provide a description for it. You can specify whether the type is applicable for a work group or a planning group or both. You can also set the status for the common type.

You are also allowed to modify the description and status of the types that are already defined. The system stores the name of the user who created or last modified the type, and sets the created and last modified date and time to the current system date and time respectively.
