Creating preventive maintenance template – An overview

Create PM Template - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to create a preventive maintenance template. You can create the template with a unique code and provide a description and a status for it.

You must specify the item number and the variant of the equipment for which the template is created. You can also create the template for a group of equipment belonging to equipment group and for a group of locations belonging to a location group. You must specify the task or procedure that must be performed as a part of the schedule, the type of the preventive maintenance and the agency that is responsible for carrying out the preventive maintenance.

You can also specify the planning time for assigning various resources that are required for carrying out the work order as the lead-time for the schedule. When the lead-time is specified, work orders will be generated for the preventive maintenance schedule taking into consideration the planning time that is specified. For example, if the preventive maintenance is due to be performed on the 20th of every month and if a lead-time of 10 days is specified, the work order will be generated on the 10th of every month. The 10 days lead-time will be utilized for planning the resources for carrying out the work order.

You can specify the details of the work order that must be raised for performing the preventive maintenance by specifying the following details:

The system creates the preventive maintenance template and stores the login ID of the user who created the template along with the date and time at which it was created.

Specify whether clearance is required or not for carrying out the preventive maintenance

You can specify whether clearance from specific authorities is required for carrying out the work order that is raised based on the preventive maintenance schedule

If clearance is required, the system automatically generates a clearance request for carrying out the preventive maintenance work order. This is done when a work order, based on the preventive maintenance schedule, is generated.
