The system performs the following for a consumption parameter:
If the “Delta/New” drop-down list box is set to “New”,
If the date and time at which the parameter value is updated is later than the date of the last update, the system updates the already existing parameter value with the value entered in the "Value" field for the equipment - parameter - date - time combination. |
If the date and time at which the parameter value is updated is in between two already updated parameter values, the system inserts the parameter value with the value entered in the "Value" field for the equipment - parameter - date - time combination. It also re-calculates the subsequently updated parameter values for the equipment. |
If the “Delta/New” drop-down list box is set to “Delta”, the system adds the value entered in the “Value” field to the already existing value and sets that as the parameter value for the equipment – parameter – date – time combination.
The system updates the parameter values for the following:
all the formula based parameters, which refer to this parameter in the formula. |
for all child equipment in the equipment hierarchy having the parameter updation source as “Parent”. |
for all rotables that are attached to the equipment, having the parameter updation source as “Parent”. |
Checks for existence of any usage based preventive maintenance schedules for the equipment. If the value of the parameter updated exceeds the 'Next Value' as per the scheduling options, a preventive maintenance work order will be generated. |
Generates inspection orders and calibration orders based on the inspection schedules and the calibration schedules that have been defined for the equipment.
Refreshes fields in the multiline with the details of the update that is currently done on the parameter.
The system performs the following for a “Range” or “Attribute” parameter:
Updates the parameter value for an attribute parameter with the value entered in the “Value” field for the Equipment – Parameter – Date – Time combination.
If the parameter is of type “Range”,
Updates the parameter value for a Range parameter with the value entered in the “Value” field for the Equipment – Parameter – Date – Time combination. |
Updates the value of all the formula based parameters, which refer to this parameter in the formula. |
Generates the appropriate remedial action, such as raising of work orders, based on the parameter value entered, and the triggers defined. |
For more details regarding triggers defined for parameter values, refer the topic, “Defining predictive triggers”.
If the parameter is of type “Attribute”,
Updates the attribute parameter with the value entered in the “Value” field for the Equipment – Parameter – Inspection Point – Date – Time combination. |
Generates the appropriate remedial action, such as raising of work orders, based on the parameter value entered. |
If the parameter is a conditional parameter, then the system calculates the difference in duration between the last update and the current update in the value and updates the difference to the consumption parameter that has been attached to the attribute parameter. |
Refreshes the fields in the multiline with the details of the update that is currently done on the parameter.
Click the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to view the other parameters that are affected by updating the parameter in the multiline.
To proceed, carry out the following

Update Parameter Log – An overview
This page allows you to insert range, consumption and attribute parameter values in the parameter log. You can insert parameter values between the already updated parameter values. You can also insert the values, for the parameters which can be updated through the Real Time Integration, as well as the parameters that can be updated from their parent parameters. However, the parameters that can be updated by a formula, and attribute parameters that are identified as conditional parameters, cannot be updated manually in this activity.
You can update consumption parameters by entering the following details:
The value of the consumption parameter
Whether the value is an incrementing value or an absolute value
The date and time on which the value is inserted.
The employee ID of the user who has inserted the value
Any additional information about inserting the value
The system inserts the consumption parameter value and also does the following:
Re-calculates all the parameter values which were updated on a date later than the date for which the current insertion is done.
Updates any formula based parameters which has the parameter that is updated as a reference.
Updates any parameters that belong to the child equipment or location of the equipment / location for which the current insertion is done.
Generates preventive maintenance work orders, inspection orders and calibration orders based on the insertion that is done for the equipment or location.
You can update the range and attribute parameters by entering the following details:
The value of the range or attribute parameter
The date and time at which the parameter is inserted
The employee ID of the user who has updated the parameter value
Any additional information about the parameter being inserted
The system inserts the value for the range or attribute parameters and also does the following:
Updates any formula based parameters which has the range parameter that is updated as a reference.
If the attribute parameter is a conditional parameter, the system calculates the difference in the time between the current and the last update done on the parameter and updates this difference to the consumption parameter that has been attached to the attribute parameter.
Generates work orders based on the insertion that is done for the equipment or location.
