Basics of using a Ramco iEnterprise Series 4.0 web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to update the range, consumption and attribute parameters of the equipment / location. Tell me more.

The “Update Parameter Log” page appears.

Update On

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether you wish to update parameter values on equipment or location. The system provides the options “Equipment” and “Location”. The system displays “Equipment”, by default.

Code

The identifier of the equipment or location for which parameter values must be updated (Alphanumeric, 30). This field should not be left blank. If the “Update On” field is “Equipment”, ensure that the equipment entered here is already defined in the “Create Equipment” activity of the “Equipment Induction” business component and is in “Active” status. If the “Update On” field is “Location”, ensure that the location entered here is already defined in the “Create Location” activity of the “Maintenance Organization” business component and is in “Active” status.

Include If Source Is RTI or Parent

Check the box if you wish to update the parameter values for a parameter whose source is “RTI” or “Parent”.

Press <Enter> on the “Code” field.

Reported By

The employee ID of the user who has reported the parameter values (Alphanumeric, 10). Ensure that the user has already been defined in the “Define Employee” activity of the “Resources” business component and is in “Current” status.

Help facility available.

Reported Date

The date on which the parameter value is reported (Date Format). Data entry in this field is mandatory, if a time is entered in the edit box alongside.

Press <Enter>. The system defaults the current system time in the edit box alongside.

Enter the time at which the parameter value is reported in the edit box alongside (Time Format).

Note: Ensure that you do not enter a future date and time in the “Reported Date” field.

Remarks

Any additional information about the parameter value being reported (Alphanumeric, 255).

The system displays the details of the consumption parameters belonging to the equipment / location in the “Consumption Parameters” multiline:

Note: The system does not retrieve parameters that can be updated by formula.

Parameter

The consumption parameter for which parameter values must be updated.

UOM

The unit of measurement of the consumption parameter.

Or

Value

The value of the consumption parameter (Alphanumeric, 30). Ensure the following:

  • The value entered here should be a positive number.

  • If “New” is selected in the “Delta / New” drop-down list box, the value entered here should be more than the previously updated value.

Delta / New

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the value updated is an incremental value or a new value. The system provides the following options:

  • New – Select this option if the value updated to the parameter is a new value that would replace the old value.

  • Delta – Select this option if the value updated to the parameter is an incremental value.

Do not leave this field blank, if you have specified a value in the “Value” field. The system leaves the field blank, by default.

Date

The date on which the value is updated (Date Format). Data entry in this field is mandatory if no date is specified in the “Reported Date” field.

Time

The time at which the value is updated (Time Format). Data entry in this field is mandatory, if you have specified a date in the “Date” field.

Note: Ensure that the date and time entered here is not later than the current date and time and is also later than the previous date on which the parameter has been updated for the equipment – inspection point combination.

Reported By

The employee ID of the user who has reported the parameter values.

Help facility available.

Remarks

Any additional information about the parameter value (Alphanumeric, 255).

The system displays the following fields:

Source

The source from which the parameter is updated, which can be “Manual”, “RTI” or “Parent”.

Parameter Value

The value of the parameter before it was updated.

Last Update Date

The date on which the parameter was last updated.

Time

The time at which the parameter was last updated.

The system displays the following fields in the “Range and Attribute Parameters” multiline:

Parameter

The consumption parameter for which parameter values must be updated.

Inspection Point

The inspection point that is attached to the equipment / location.

UOM

The unit of measurement of the range parameter.

Or

Value

The value of the range or attribute parameter (Alphanumeric, 30). Ensure the following:

  •  The value entered here is positive.

  •  If the parameter is of type “Attribute”, the value entered here should have already been defined in the “Create Parameter” activity of the “Equipment Induction” business component.

Help facility available.

Reported By

The employee ID of the user who has reported the parameter values (Alphanumeric, 10). Ensure that the employee has already been defined in the “Define Employee” activity of the “Resources” business component and is in “Current” status.

Parameter Type

The type of the parameter, which can be “Range” or “Attribute”.

The system performs the following for a consumption parameter:

The system updates the parameter values for the following:

  •

all the formula based parameters, which refer to this parameter in the formula.

  •

all child equipment in the equipment hierarchy having the parameter updation source as “Parent”.

  •

all rotables that are attached to the equipment, having the parameter updation source as “Parent”.

The system performs the following for a “Range” or “Attribute” parameter:

  •

Updates the parameter value for a Range parameter with the value entered in the “Value” field for the Equipment – Parameter – Inspection Point - Date – Time combination.

  •

Updates the value of all the formula based parameters, which refer to this parameter in the formula.

  •

Generates the appropriate remedial action, such as raising of work orders, based on the parameter value entered.

  •

Updates the attribute parameter with the value entered in the “Value” field for the Equipment – Parameter – Inspection Point – Date – Time combination.

  •

Generates the appropriate remedial action, such as raising of work orders, based on the parameter value entered.

  •

If the parameter is a conditional parameter, then the system calculates the difference in duration between the last update and the current update in the value and updates the difference to the consumption parameter that has been attached to the attribute parameter.
