Report Parameter Values – A summary of the activity
This activity enables you to manually update parameter values into the parameter log. You can update the parameter values for consumption, range and attribute parameters.
Updating values of consumption parameters
The system provides two ways of updating the value for a "Consumption" type parameter. A brief explanation of each of the two options is provided below:
Delta
New
Delta: The actual increase in the parameter value over and above the previous recorded value alone needs to be specified. The system will automatically compute the total parameter value by adding this value to the existing parameter value.
New: You must specify the value of the parameter as of date. This option can be used when the metered value of a consumption parameter is directly entered whenever updates are made.
When a consumption parameter update is done on equipment, all the child equipment, which belong to the equipment for which parameter updating is done, will also be updated. This is done, provided the same parameter is defined for the child equipment and the source of parameter updating for this parameter in the child is specified as "Parent". This is also applicable in the case of any rotables that are attached to the equipment.
There are cases where the value of a parameter depends on the values of other parameters. Such parameters are related by a formula. When a consumption parameter value is updated, all its formula based parameters are also updated.
While updating the consumption parameter of the equipment, the system checks for the existence of usage based preventive maintenance schedules raised on the equipment. If the parameter value updated exceeds the ‘Next Due Value' as per the scheduling options, a preventive maintenance work order will be generated.
Note: The system also checks for usage based preventive maintenance schedules on the child equipment of the equipment and generates a preventive maintenance work order accordingly, if the parameter values are inherited from parent.
Based on the parameter value that has been entered, the system generates inspection orders and calibration orders for the inspection schedule and calibration schedules that has been defined for the equipment or location.
Updating values of range parameters
Range parameters are updated by entering the value that falls within the range of values specified for the parameter. When a range parameter is updated, its formula based parameters are also updated.
While updating range parameters, the system checks for any triggers that have been defined for the range in the “Predictive Maintenance” business component. If the updated parameter value falls within the range defined, the system generates the appropriate action, such as creation of work requests or work orders. For more details regarding defining of predictive triggers, refer the topic “Defining predictive triggers – A summary of the activity”.
Updating values of attribute parameters
Attribute parameters are updated by entering the attribute parameter value that has already been defined for the parameter in the “Create Parameter” activity of the “Equipment Induction” business component.
While updating attribute parameters, the system checks for any triggers that have been defined for the various values of the parameter and generates the appropriate remedial action, such as creation of work requests or work orders for the equipment/location. For more details regarding defining of predictive triggers, refer the topic “Defining predictive triggers – A summary of the activity”.
If the parameter is a conditional parameter, then the system calculates the difference in duration between the last update and the current update in the value and updates the difference to the consumption parameter that has been attached to the attribute parameter. ![]()

What you can do in this activity
Record parameter values for equipment or location
Update parameter values either on incremental basis or as a new value
Record parameter values for equipment or location
Select equipment or location in the “Select Equipment / Location” page.
Go to “Report Parameter Values” page.
The values for consumption, range and attribute parameters can be updated for the selected equipment or location.
Update parameter values either on incremental basis or as a new value
Go to “Report Parameter Values” page.
Enter either a delta value or a new value for the equipment or location. ‘Delta value’ is the actual increase in the parameter value over and above the previous recorded value. ‘New value’ is the value of the parameter as of date.
You can also view the various other parameters that are affected by the parameter updation.
Select equipment or location in the “Select Equipment / Location” page.
Enter the parameter values in the “Report Parameter Values” page.
Go to “Affected Parameters” page to view the affected parameters.
