This page allow you to define the tool with a unique code and provide a description, user-defined tool type and status for it. Tell me more.
Select the “Define Tool” link under the “Tools” business component.
The “Define Tool” page appears.
Enter the following fields:
Tool |
A unique identifier for the tool (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. This field can be a combination of characters and digits and cannot be left blank. |
Enter the textual description of the tool in the edit box alongside (Alphanumeric, 150). Zoom facility available | |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to set the status of the tool as “Active” or “Inactive”. The system sets the field as “Active” by default. |
Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable this tool and the serial numbers defined for each piece of the tool, from future reference in other activities. | |
Hourly rate |
The cost per hour of usage of the tool (Decimal). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. The system sets the field as zero by default. |
Quantity (Nos.) |
The total number of tools to be inducted into the system (Integer). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. |
Note: If you identify the tool serial numbers in the multiline, ensure that the quantity you specify equals the number of multiline rows carrying serial numbers. If you leave the field blank, the system calculates the quantity as the total number of serial numbers entered in the multiline.
Tool Type |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate the type of the tool. The system lists all the tool types that are defined in the “Define Tool Type” activity and are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank if you do not wish to indicate the type of the tool. The system leaves this field blank, by default. |
Item Code |
The item number of the tool, if the tool has already been identified as an item in the inventory (Alphanumeric, 32). The item code must have been defined in the “Item Administration” business component of Ramco Corporate Solutions. Help facility available |
Variant |
The variant code if the item code entered is variant controlled. (Alphanumeric, 8). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the item has been defined with more than one variant. The variant code must have been defined in the “Item Administration” business component of Ramco Corporate Solutions. |
Enter the following fields in the “Sr. No. Assignment” multiline:
Tool Sr. No. |
A unique serial number identifying each piece of the tool (Alphanumeric, 20). |
Description |
The textual description of the tool serial number (Alphanumeric, 150). |
Hourly Rate |
The cost per hour of usage of the tool serial number (Decimal). Ensure that the hourly rate is not negative. |
Note: The system sets the field as zero, if you leave this field blank.
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to set the status of the tool serial number as “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable this serial number from future reference in other activities. |
Note: The system sets the field as “Active” if you leave this field blank.
Remarks |
Any additional remarks or comments pertaining to the tool serial number (Alphanumeric, 80). |
Note: Ensure that the number of tool serial numbers entered in the multiline is equal to the value entered in the “Quantity (Nos.)” field.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the serial number entered for the tool for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the toolbar above the multiline to delete the serial numbers.
Note: Once created, the tool serial number cannot be deleted.
Click the “Save” pushbutton to add the maintenance tool.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:
Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the tool. |
Created Date |
The date and time at which the tool was created. |
Last Modified By |
In this activity, this field contains the login ID of the user who created the tool. |
Last Modified Date |
In this activity, this field contains the date and time at which the tool was created. |
Activate or inactivate the tool
Activate or inactivate the tool
You can activate or inactivate a tool in this page. An inactive tool cannot be referred to in other related activities.
Set the “Status” field as “Active” to activate the tool.
Set the “Status” field as “Inactive” to inactivate the tool.
