This activity allows you to define the format in which these non-routine tasks must be numbered, when they are automatically generated in the “Create WO” activity of the “Work Order” business component.
Select the “Set Function Parameters” link under the “Task” business component.
The “Set Function Parameters” page appears.
Enter the following fields:
Prefix For Non-Routine Task Code |
Enter the prefix for the non-routine tasks (Alphanumeric, 5). |
Starting No. |
The number starting from which the non-routine task number must be generated (Integer). |
The system displays the following field: |

Next No. |
The number that will be generated by the system, as a combination of the prefix and the starting number, for non-routine tasks. This field is updated on clicking the “Submit” pushbutton. |
Note: If the combination of the prefix and the starting number has already been assigned to an existing routine or non-routine task, the system keeps incrementing the number until a unique number is encountered.
Click the “Submit” pushbutton.
The system performs the following:
If both the “Prefix For Non Routine Task Code” and “Starting No.” fields are left blank, the system generates a unique number starting from “0000001” and displays it in the “Next No.” field.
If the prefix is entered and the “Starting No.” field is left blank, the system generates a unique number combining the prefix entered and a number starting from “0000001” and displays the combination in the “Next No.” field.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:
