Specifying spares for the work order – A summary of the activity

Edit Work Order - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to specify spare parts that are required for the work order as well for the tasks belonging to the work order. You can specify spares to the work order that is selected in the main page.

Spares can be of two types: standard spares and non-standard spares. Standard spare parts are defined in the inventory and are identified by an item number. Non-standard spare parts are those that are not defined in the inventory and can be directly specified for the work order by entering the spare part description. If you wish to specify a standard spare part, you can directly enter the item number of the spare part along with its variant if the part has a variant code. You can also select a standard spare part using the help facility. If you wish to specify a non-standard spare part, you have to enter its description, unit of measurement, the quantity and the unit cost of the spare.

Based on the details specified for a spare part, the system automatically calculates and displays the total estimated cost of utilizing the spare part.

You can modify the details of the spare parts that have already been specified in the work order. You can also delete an existing spare part from the work order or from the tasks belonging to the work order.
