Select the “Create Quick Order” link under the “EAM Work Order Execution” business component.
The “Create Quick Order” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
WO No. |
A unique identifier of the work order as generated by the system. |
Date |
The date and time on which the work order is created. The system displays the current date and time. |
Enter the following fields:
Desc. |
The textual description of the work order (Alphanumeric, 150). |

WO Status |
The system displays “In Progress” when the page is launched. The system refreshes this field with “Completed” when the work order is completed. |
Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the work order. The system lists all the types that are defined in the “Define Work Order Types” activity and are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank, if you do not wish to specify any work order type. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category to which the work order belongs. The system fills in all the categories that have been defined in the “Define Work Order Categories” activity and are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank, if you do not wish to specify any work order category. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to select the priority to be assigned to the work order. Priority indicates the level of importance that is assigned to the work order. The system fills in all the priorities that have been defined in the “Define Priority“ activity of the “Maintenance Organization” business component and are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank, if you do not wish to specify any work order priority. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Eqp./Loc. and Problem” group box:

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the work order has to be created on equipment or location. By default, the system sets this field as “Equipment”. |
Code |
The equipment or location for which the work order must be created (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. If you are entering the equipment code, ensure that it has already been defined in the “Create Equipment“ activity of the “Equipment Induction“ business component. Select the checkbox to indicate the applicability of root cause analysis at work order level. |

Major Problem |
The problem for which the work order is being created (Alphanumeric, 30). If you have specified a standard problem, ensure that it is already defined in the “Create Problem Code” activity of the “Trouble Shooting Guide” business component and is in the “Active” status. If you have entered a non-standard problem, enter the description in the edit box alongside. |

Note: If you have specified a non-standard problem, the system automatically generates a number in the format as set in the “Option Settings” activity of the “Trouble Shooting Guide” business component. If you have not set the format, the system generates a unique number for the non-standard problem starting from “000001”. The system displays the number in the “Major Problem” field.

The failure group to which the equipment belongs. The system leaves the field blank if the work order is raised on a location. |

Any extra cost that will be incurred on carrying out the work order (Decimal). Ensure that the cost is not negative. By default, the system displays “0.00”. |
Click the “Create” pushbutton to create the quick order.
The system creates a quick work order and performs the following:
If the “Complete WO?” box is checked the system saves the quick order with the “Completed” status. If the “Complete WO?” box is unchecked the system saves the quick order with the “In Progress” status.
Saves the financial details of the work order.
Records the details of quick order creation in the work order history.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Select the “Cost” link from the bottom of the page to specify the work order cost details.
Select the “Attach Notes” link from the bottom of the page to specify the work order notes details.
Select the "Book Parts" link from the bottom of the page to book the items for the work order.
Creating quick order – An overview
This page allows you to create a quick order for carrying out maintenance activities on equipment or location. The quick order is created by a unique code, which is automatically generated by the system. You have to specify the following details for creating the quick order:
the description of the quick order
the maintenance object for which the quick order is being created, which can be equipment or location and its code
the type of the quick order and the category to which the quick order belongs
the priority, which indicates the level of importance that is assigned to the quick order
the work group that is responsible for carrying out the quick order
the employee who is responsible for supervising the operations done on the quick order
the parent work order
the problem that is noticed on the equipment for which the quick order is created
the date and time on which the work on the quick order has started
the date and time at which the quick order is completed
the number of hours within which the quick order is completed.
the extra cost, apart from the cost of the resources, that will be incurred on the work order
the percentage of completion of the work order
any additional information that you wish to record about the work order
The system creates the quick order and assigns the “In progress” status to it. If the quick order is already completed, the system assigns the “Completed” status to it.
